Well, I finished downloading an hour ago, installed, and came into a server.
Got a few connection problems, like everyone. Tried again.
Went into a server, and bam. There it was. CTD with the sound playing in loops.
Meanwhile, BF2 and BF2:SF plays fine.

Specs:

1.8 GHZ AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3000+
1024 MB Kingston RAM
ATI X850 XT Platinum Edition

Im starting to notice this issue with alot of people, maybe I wont download it when I get home

I can't even Install. I double click the .exe and it won't open.

I have specs similar to the thread poster.

Make sure you have the latest version of DirectX installed and in addition to that go to this side and download the file ---> d3dx9.dll_29 and copy it into your Windows/system32 folder.

I had sort of the same problem and it runs after that...

Sidenote : But only until the login screen, that tells me that the EA master account server has a little "time out"...

The only crashing I noticed was the first time I installed it. I selected my X-Fi for sound and it CTD. Re-ran it, alt-tabbed out and it wouldnt bring the window back up. Had to crtl-alt-del my way out of a black window. After that though, was able to select my xfi and alt-tab just fine. Working just fine now.
