In the past I never had a problem with Israel. They were America's adopted child if you will. New the world, hated by all. We needed to protect them. But recent events show that Israel has begun to exploit the fact that they under the US's protective blanket. The war with Lebanon was a bloody fiasco. I'm not saying it was wrong to fight Hezbollah. Israel has every right to protect itself. But the indiscrimenant bombings of everything that moved. Simple Israeli conversion equation:
2 captured soldiers = 1000's of slaughtered civilians
As for Palestine. Security is what is needed. As long as Israel only defends itself from attacks, the US will be there to support it. America's stepchild needs to have some of its toys taken away so it can play fair.

Nice try. I'm not anti-semitic and I won't go down this road again for the like, ummm, 10000th time again. Look up past posts where I expound on the difference between anti-semitism and criticism of Israel. Anti-semitism is the Zionists number one weapon in its arsenal over and above any kind of munition or ordinance and I won't bite my tongue because people choose to ignore the subtleties of my arguments - Israel will get no immunity from criticism from me for what Hitler did.King_County_Downy wrote:

I think he's trying to draw attention to the double standard rather than call anyone anti-semtic. Just look at the image; on the one hand you can say whatever you like about the Jews, but woe betied anyone who critises Islam.CameronPoe wrote:

Not a view i share in the slightest, but it might help things along if you (Poe or anyone else) answers that post in the above light.
Freedom of speech/Right to choose > Oppressive Tyranny.
Therefore:
Israel > Palestine

A) Palestine doesn't HAVE a proper 'regime' or 'government' as such where's the tyranny of the Palestinian populace?King_County_Downy wrote:

B) Palestine has been, until very recently, one of THE MOST SECULAR arabic 'nations' in the middle east. A symptom of them coming together for a political goal rather than a religious one. See the infighting amongst the Palestinians alone for evidence of how many of them abhorr hardline islamic elements. Women are very highly respected there compared against other arabic nations. They have even had top ranking politicians who were female.
C) Right to choose? Tell that to an IDF refusenik.
Then you condone the extermination of the Palestinian race. If they keep fighting Israel that is what will happen.CameronPoe wrote:

It would be ironic if the Israelis were responsible for genocide....
Like i SAID for the umpteenth time You think Everything in the world wrong is Israels fault, But yet you cant find it in yourself to Blame ANY of the worlds woes on the extreme views of a so called peaceful religion. Go figure.CameronPoe wrote:

Maybe someone could enlighten me as to how Israel might make peace with the Palestinians? Other than by committing suicide and leaving the middle east, how CAN there be peace?
If Israel said today "lets have peace" what would happen? Would the Palestinians say "OK, no problem let's all stop killing each other and we'll all live happily where we are?" or would they say "no peace until Israel leaves Palestinian land?"
What if Hamas or the PLO said "lets have peace" would Israel say "OK we'll all live happily where we are", or "no peace until Palestinians leave Israeli land"
If you examine the answer to the question you will determine who wants peace and who wants the utter destruction of the other state.

Man you guys all seem to have a solution to this problem that no one in the last 3000 years was able to come up with. Ok, on to the next thing making the world shitty ...
Hamas are a religious organisation. They have been trying to promote Islam throughout Palestine. I remember hearing about Hamas paying for mass Islamic weddings for lots of Palestinians, many of whom were not religious.CameronPoe wrote:

Palestine is one of the least Islamic countries in the middle east. The conflict is not about religion - it is about getting back land and freedom from oppression on one hand and about keeping/gaining land and freedom from terrorism on the other.
Both sides are in the wrong, but Israel was in the wrong first and should be responsible enough to put an end to all this, which they are in a position to do - the Palestinian government are not.
If both nations accepted the UN defined borders of their states. There could, and probably would, be peace.Fester53D&E wrote:

If its about land then its still the Palestinians responsibility to conform. Wars have been fought and bounderies redrawn. Live with it.CameronPoe wrote:

Just as you wouldn't live with it if the same happened to you, Palestinians won't live with it having happened to them. You're short on empathy.rawls2 wrote:

Nations cannot enlarge their borders through the use of aggressive force. There are no exceptions to this non-acquisition principle. The U.N. Security Council, the International Court of Justice, and America itself have consistently affirmed it. In the words of the General Assembly, "no territorial acquisition resulting from the threat or use of force shall be recognized as legal." Moreover, nations are forbidden from recognizing borders secured through illegal war....rawls2 wrote:

It's therefore the Israelis responsibility to give back the land taken.

What the fuck do they need money for, we are already giving them 3 billion every year so they can sign bombs and continue an illegal occupation.
Israeli soldiers have even used the word purification to describe there actions so lay off me neo-cons.

You are confused sir. It is about religion. Yes they want their land back but at the cost of the eradication of Isreal. They refuse to acknowledge its existance right or wrong. Hamas supports violence against Isreal. Nuff.Bertster7 wrote:
