anyone else having trouble logging on tonite?

It is WED nite, at 8:30 CST, and I can't log on. I am getting stuck in "connecting to server". I called my brother, and he is doing the same. We both are updated with patches, etc.

Anyone else having that problem?

I too thought it was me. Especially since last week I upgraded my computer so I could get more performance out of it. So after the BF2 failure, I tried BF 1942 (oldy but goodie), and that doesn't work either. Luckily by bro plays too, so I got him to try and he is having troubles. One word: sheesh!

Well if 1233523462345870 people are having the same error don't you think that its not a client side error but a Server side error?

its to do with accounts so my bet the Account server is down for maintenance.

Just wait and they will be back up shortly

and yes this is based on experience i don't have hard evidence.

Providing its the account server thats down, it can take about 5 minutes to an hour of maintenance depending on what it is there doing. But it may not be maintenance.

All we can do is stop clogging BF2s with these post and wait for them to get it back up.

Try single player if you dont think its Server side

EA have owned dice for quite some time now, why choose now to do this?

To all,

Good thing I checked this forum tonight; I was getting worried that my new video card was crashing my game.

It helps to have task manager open and maximized on your desktop so that you don't have to reboot. Some games just hate to relinquish any control back to the user. At least the game doesn't pause endlessly like Oblivion if I want to tab out and then tab back in.

Any one know if there is a way to run BF2 in the small window mode?
