I could tell you what I think about military administration, but then I'd have DoD brainwashing gurus knocking down my door.

The only time in my life I have actually been at gun point...

When I was stationed in Japan we rotated burn duty for destruction of classified material.  Huge incenerator.  We had fire gear, full body suits and helmet w/ visor.  The guy I was working with that night decided he didn't need to put on the helmet w/ visor to stir the inside.  He's got his whole upper body in there stirring the ashes, when he declares, "This stuff really stinks."  I could smell it too... nothing quite like the aroma of burning hair and flesh.  I grab him and pull him out of it and see that his hair is on fire.  I bust out of the outer doors dragging him behind me and threw him down into the snow.

There I am at 2AM in the morning beating this guy's head into the ground.  One of our Security Police patrols saw me bust out and bash this guys head in the ground.  SP runs over orders me to stop and looks down his rifle at me.  I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO PISS MYSELF.

I tell the SP what happened, and told him I think someone needs to call a medic.  So he let me get up.  The EMTs got there and declared this guys burns were life threatening because he actually toasted his eyes.

Dude got flown out that night to Hawaii for burn treatments.  He was kicked out shortly after that.

I was discharged (honorably) from the US MArines in 12/91 right after completing basic because i had a small patch of psoriasis.  So I have no war stories.

But I did live in Brazil for a couple years and I got to see plenty of carnage and ghetto style violence.  One time I was walking in a rainy, unpaved bairro and the undisputed drug lord of the bairro (neighborhood/ghetto) became a disputed drug lord as 4 guys jumped him, stomped on his head till it caved in, then shot him multiple times as his bloody carcass lay in the muddy street.  I also saw a man possessed of an evil spirit convulsing and spewing profanities (even at me, calling me by name, in perfect english) when my companion and I rebuked the evil spirit from him and it left him.  Those on the bus we were all on then cheered the two mormon boys who cast out evil spirits! lol  I won't share other, more sacred experiences of the warfare I've seen, but suffice it to say, Brasil is a magnet for such things.

Stuff like that really freaks me out. I've never seen it personally, but I have heard it from a few people that I trust.

EDIT: That's with regard to evil spirity things.

well me and my squad (7) where in a certain area and as we were bounding from covered postion to the next we took heavy fire from north east, as I moved up to a burm I see 4 enemy moving in on our postion fast with several more heads occastionly popping up to take shots at us,  I eased up to the top of the burm and with my 16w/scope I popped 1 in the head while my SAW gunner mowed downed the remaining 3, the ones in the rear popping shots at us took off running but didn't get to far with all of us shooting

haha nice story. Insurgents have a tendancy to just pop a few shots off and run. Did the SAW tear them up?
Glad you came home ok.

December 1998.

We were sent to the Iraq / Kuwait border when Saddam moved his troops up to the border, after expelling the UN Inspectors.  We were on the Kuwait side of the border near Karbala.  I was in charge of a night patrol that was supposed to just go near the border.  While on patrol, we ran into a massive sandstorm.  I lost all bearing of where we were.  I made a decision and decided to head back to base.  After walking for a while, we realized we were lost.  I knew the sun was going to be coming up soon, and if we were in the wrong place, we would be fucked for sure.  I did not want to be the one responsible for starting a war.  We then saw a house and a car outside of it.  I then realized we were in Karbala.  My radio operator got out the map, and we agreed on a direction to move.  We finally made it back to base just as the sun was rising.  It could have been a real mess, all because I got us lost.

Except it's a requirement. One cannot be a terrorist or an insurgent if one is not human. Otherwise its just an angry animal.

Well since terrorist is a rather arbitrary label and the insurgents are doing nothing more than defending their homes (can you fault them for that?), I'd say you just find the notion of killing others entertaining.

Terrorist was at first the choice of words for Al-Qaeda's presence and attackers of civilian targets. Someone decided it would be easier if terrorist and "insurgent" became one and the same to the American people. If a country invade the US, would you sit there and take it? These people won't. That doesn't make them terrorists.

im an accountant in the military. while deployed never left the wire with less that 400k in my ruck. anyone who has been deployed knows all the construction, food, shitter cleaning is contracted out to the local economy.. the locals want to be paid in American money (and thank god cause the exchange rate was over 100,000 to one i think).. well long story short our hotel got bombed.. were going to have to sleep in our trucks (those fucking POS suvs that say shoot me im American) a local (showing his gravitated to the us of course) put us up in his place, fed us, and paid for female companionship ... cant wait to go back ...

it wasnt all cake and ice cream.. we got alot of death threats..... even had one of our mp escorts sitting on our money (which was in unmarked bags out of plain site and they were told was 100k) posing over it taking pictures telling each other how they should hijack the plane and fly to Cancun... little did they there was upwards of 1 million in 50s and 100s in each bag... and usually we had 6-10 bags......

Yea but alot of the people there that are seriously dedicated to there idea are from other countries and part of terrorist organizations.

Is that so. I think if I was defending my home I would'nt hide behind my children. I wouldnt strap bombs to my children or brainwash them to hate jews. I wouldnt hide in hospitals. I wouldnt blow up my people including children with a car bomb. I wouldnt hide amongst civilian populations.

Alright. China invades the US. You're pissed. Not everyone is willing to fight. You are. What do you do. Go into the street and yell "HEY MR CHINAMAN LOOK AT ME WITH THIS HERE GUN AND I AM GOING TO KILL YOU?" Effective tactic?

lol your not even trying. I just proved your little they are defending their homes theoryBS. I have no problem with IED's even if it is kinda pussy of them. I do have a problem with all the civilians getting killed by carbombs from insurgents. I have a problem with hiding behind children and hospitals. If china invaded I would fight but I would NEVER think of putting a child in harms way. I would NEVER think of hiding in heavly populated areas. I would NEVER think of hiding in hospitals and stashing weapons in ambulances.
