Hey dudes, i have 1 GB of DDR Corsair ram, a Geforce FX 5900 and a AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1.28 GHz

and i was wondering, now that the specs have gone up for 2142 if i would be able to play 2142 ok?

Sorry i know nothing about hardware!

Highly doubt it.

Get another gig of RAM AT LEAST. Upgrade te video card by alot too. And you'll need a way better processor than that.

I didn't think the specs have gone up for BF2142, its using the same engine as BF2 so unless they have tweaked the engine that specs should be exactly the same.

can some one clarify me on this?

MINIMUM SPECS say 1.2 ghz and 512mb RAM
So i see no reason why you shouldnt be able to play..!!!!

try getting the demo which is out tomoz aand see what happens

Only caution would be graphic glitches, BF2142 is a lot more graphi intense. My problems did not go away until I upgraded on bf2.. I planned ahead for 2142 this time arund...

Isn't like a 1.7 GHz processor dead-minimum?  I'm pretty sure it is, so you WILL NOT be able to play 2142 until you upgrade at least your processor.

And when I look at it closer, I realize... I don't meet the minimum card specs!  NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 isn't listed (no wonder it was all laggy on low-graphics SP for BF 2).  Plus, I have a bare-minimum 512 MB RAM, and a 1.83 GHz processor (scraping the minimums).  Ah well.  For now, I'll just play off my dad's, and hopefully I can eventually get the money to upgrade this thing (or possibly just replace it entirely).

Oh, and any tips on how to go about upgrading/scrapping my rig would be appreciated (PMs).
