hi all

I want to scan my photo-negatives (u know the brown strips u get when u go get your photo's from the photo-shop)

but I'm not sure how to do it?

do I need special scan software or hardware?


my scanner is a mustek 600 cp

I've never done it but I think you need a special attachment for the scanner.

There is an adapter for that scanner I believe to do that.

You will need a scanner that is specifically designed to scan negatives.  Besides the adapter, the lid section has hardware to handle proper scanner light handling.  The software also requires a scanner mode.

If you have a lot of negatives to scan, you might invest on a dedicated negative scanner.  They go for about $100-200.   Or go to a camera shop and rent one.  It takes forever to scan negatives via standard tabletop scanners.

Some multifunctionals also have the ability to scan negatives. The Canon MP800/800R/830 for example.
