A rich man and a poor man commit the same type of crime. The rich man is fined $10,000 while the poor man is sent to jail for one year. Is this fair?

Actually the use of camera's to get license photos has been banned as it invades "personal privacy".DoctorFruitloop wrote:
It would be very nice if the same punishment were metred out to all parties for a crime, but we all know that it just doesn't happen that way.
I mean, look at the recent story. Policeman caught doing 159 mph in his private car is initially let off, then he is convicted of the crime but the judge says he has suffered enough what with all the court appearances. How about ban the fucker from driving for 10 years so he loses his job. There are more and more speed cameras in this country as a deterrent to speeding yet when one of their own is caught he's let off lightly.
And they wonder why people have no respect for law enforcement.
