On September 24th, the NYPost reported that it was Condoleezza Rice's office that "gave final approval to the infamous Environmental Protection Agency press releases days after 9/11 claiming the air around Ground Zero was "safe to breathe."

That story has since been removed from the NYPost's servers.

The only other news agency to cover this story was NY1 News.

Isn't that "newsworthy" enough for our media? It is WELL KNOWN that there are sick and dying individuals from the toxins of Ground Zero. Why then doesn't our media think Condi's involvement warrants attention?

Is it not juicy enough for you media? Is it because we're in an election cycle, and news like this would be bad for the Republican party?

No if you read the articles she knew full well that the air was poisonous and still publicly stated that the air was safe to breathe. Thus everyone at the site was breathing normally with no protection because they trusted her, and she knowlingly deceived them, poisoning them all. If anyone else had lied like that, exposing thousands of people to danger like that, they would be in jail for a long time. Why isn't Condi held accountable like everyone else?

I can believe they knew it wasn't 100% safe but I see no facts of "thousands of people dying". Thats just an exaggeration.. As far as newsworthy you can see in primetime news first responders complaining about lack of support for medical care. There was several people involved in allowing people into ground zero and I don't believe any of them allowed it specifially to harm people. There are very few residential places so there are basically no civilians that were subjected to the bad air. The brunt of it effected the first responders who went in immediately after the attacks and worked at ground zero for weeks after. Even among those people almost none died and the majority of them had treatable respritory problems.

This also isnt anything new its old news..

The only people that put thousands of people to there death are the terrorists. The workers at ground Zero were there anyway whether or not the Government said it was safe. And the few people that are sick were A. Ground zero workers or B. People living in the immediate area. Also your sources are from NY post sick and dying Shows only 8 people. Were are the thousands?

Hello the dust covered Manhattan and spread as far as New Jersey. It wasn't just the first responders breathing it in. The EPA told ALL New Yorkers the air was safe to breathe. Last time I checked there were lots of people living in New York. Also, just because they haven't died yet doesn't mean they aren't sick with something that is going to kill them. And that is horrible.

Every time I see a story about some first responder sick it is always a non treatable respiratory disease, fatal, usually caused by inhalation of toxic fibers.
