You'll need to get rid of those air bubbles in your tubing if you want it a bit cooler. Some nice work there though, well done.
O they worked themselfs out within a day, no air in the system at all.leetkyle wrote:

Minor concern, but did you by any chance take preventive measures against static discharge? Could have fried your mobo, since you were:
1) Working on carpet
2) Probably in a cold environment (Maine+winter=cold, trust me, it's plenty cold down here in CT )

You put your Mobo on the Carpet? why?
You do know that static Electricity destroys PC's

A mate of mine brought a 500$ CPU and installed it sitting on the floor and guess what he done. Fried it from the build up of static electricity.....
I would always recommend sitting at a desk or something, unless you like replacing what you just brought.

Nice job man. i was gonna do that to mine but decided to stay away from water and a $5000 computer. You did have one of those ground wrist things on right cause i noticed you were working on a carpet.

That looks sweet, you did a really good job there. But the mobo on the carpet? That made me cringe...

i also sometimes place my parts on the floor. never hurt them in any way. i do however try to place them on some anti static bags, but normally i forget

Yes I use a static wrist guard, runs to the ground on any house outlet.

I used a wrist static guard, it's like a sweat band with a wire coming out of it that grounds you so you can work on the comfy carpet

+1 not only for 14 fans, but for having such a well documented redo for the water system.
I run fans.
Ftw.

THanks, hoping to help someone else out, or give them some ideas. Run enough fans and you can keep your system cool no matter how much OC you do.i_am_pumpkin_man wrote:

I couldn't stand the noise anymore. I could here it from the other side of the house
just by the picture didnt read any spec ....can u built me one pleaseeeeee
Real nice. I don't see why you need it though, can you explain? I have no fans in my computer, just a heat sink and its fine, well atleast it was till last month when the PSU went. But I had it running like that for about 1.5 years.
Sorry if you have already explained to someone else.

You will get better performance at lower temperatures and in order to overclock your cpu your gonna need cool temps.Vilham wrote:

Yup, Overclocked. If I did not have this setup, my cpu / gpu's would melt to my board in a few minutes. With a fan setup you are limited to the amount of oc'ing you can do because of the heat.majorassult wrote:

that is one nice rig.
nice post +1 I don't know if I understand exactly how it works but it looks rad
Works the same way you cars Rad/water pump/ cooling system does. Actually the best coolant isn't the stuff you buy from thermaltake, you use 90% distiled water and 10% anti freeze, with a few drops on iodine (Keeps the corrosion away).JimmyBotswana wrote:

any idea how good is zalman's coolant. I haven't heard anything bad about it. I'm asking because the anti-algae stuff that waterchill sells doesn't work, only thing u get from it is mess your tubing and blocks. I also heard that someone had that problem with the thermaltakes own coolant so what works then?

At the very least, stick the static sack between that motherboard and the carpet. Sheesh...bubbass wrote:

Check out those forums, they are outstanding. Lots of guys that have been doing this a long time.
From a poll they did, the majority use 9 parts distiled water to 1 part antifreeze (Car). They say it works the best, and I trust these guys. I use the thermaletake stuff, however it is no difference then just water/antifreeze (Except the thermaltake stuff is 20 bucks for a small bottle.

Yea it does look neat, however there are a lot of adcvantages other then cosmetic. It is a lot quieter then a air cooled system, the cooler your hardware, the better it runs. And we all know heat is a killer, it will prolong the life of your hardware as well.Sup3r_Dr4gon wrote:

I made this post to help anyone who is thinking about going water cooling and learning from my mistakes. So when you do go, you will get what you want out of the box and no trail and error. I already spent the money for yea :-)
