Errr, bukkake'd? I assume you are reffering to the plastic wrapping around him. Yes, this was my first signature ever. I ought to change it...

Sorry for "off-topicness."
Looks like a GI-Joe figure still in it's package.

To the OP. Very well written. +1

Nice post, I agree with pretty much all of your points.

To anyone that does feel required to say "I paid for it, blah blah blah", please note that 'courtesy' isn't obligatory.  I've had tanks and APC's stolen from me faaar too many times when I've been out of the action repairing myself- normally by players with <20,000 global points- but the odd 'leetzor' has commited the act as well.

Nicely done.

Something I would add would be along these lines.  An apology after a teamkill goes a long way to a "no punish" key stroke.
That to me shows courtesy.  I never punish if someone offers the apology.

+1 for you

Would be nice if everyone went by that, but it will never happen. Some players and too greedy, selfish, childish to let someone else play with their trainset

Hey guys,im new at the forum here and the thing that got me going was the post of the "rules of engagement". I agree that those simple rules should be on everybodys mind when playing BF2,though this is dreamthinking. I try my best at following these rules as i have experienced that "normal" people tend to not just like you more, but allso help you out more in some pretty nasty situations. I put a lot of effort behind beeing a good teamplayer because i think that teamwork is one of the most important and fun things about BF2. As a squadleader i prefer players that not only can comunicate with me and theyr fellow team-mates but also can take orders that come from either me ro the commander.
Im very delighted to see that a lot of you guys in here share simmilar thoughts about beeing good sports and teamplayers or at the very least not beeing A-hole lonewolfers:)

Hope to see you soon on a BF2 server, prefebly trough my sniper-scope;)

PS: exuce my bad grammar,im from Norway:P

1.Don’t jump in an empty tank when the engineer is repairing it. But…feel free to sit in the gun position to  protect your teammate while he’s vulnerable.

2.Just because you (or your stats) think that you’re the best at gunner, or flyer (jet or chopper), doesn’t give you the right to have sole access to the vehicle. Everyone has an equal opportunity/right to learn in multiplayer; playing and mastering singleplayer is only a false sense of security.

3.If someone clearly sucks at something, usually vehicle related, invite him or her to your squad and provide some advice or constructive criticism.

4.If someone gets in a vehicle before you (typically chopper or jet) then wait your turn, don’t TK or jump in front of the vehicle. Stop acting like a bully/poor sport.

5.Rank equals allot of points, not skill. So don’t judge a player because they have a lower rank. Ever heard of the saying, “don’t judge a book by its cover”?

6.It’s OK to ask someone to “hop out” once.

7.There’s nothing wrong with being a “whore” in Karkand, jet, sniper, whatever. Let’s face it we all do it in real life because we do what we enjoy and good at, you know…. human nature. So why should we behave differently in our elife?

8.Who cares what the other player’s stats are; just worry about yourself. You bought the game for your own satisfaction not to see how other people are doing.

9.Some people have more time to play the game than others…leave it at that. You  don’t know their personal situation.

10.This is only the surface of how deep this list could go. Bottom line, treat others how you would expect to be treated…courtesy!
I agree with you..

The problem with most people is they just don't care. There in it for their own fun/whatever, and they're stuck in the "I paid x$ I can do what I want" mindset. Unfortunately that kind of mindset is poison to pretty much any online game, but especially those that focus on teamwork.

If someone is waiting for a jet or helo let them have a go.  Waiting your turn is good sportsmanship.

What i hate more than anything is when im waiting a while for te chopper or something and noone is around then all of a sudden a guy spawns and runs over to where i am and tries to take the vehicle. I swear i tk for that shit couldnt care less about the ban. i wait my turn so you wait yours or youll be waiting 15 seconds plus your turn.

If they were just screwing around and didn't even try, then yeah.  But if they at least put up a good effort then no.  If they got to the aircraft b4 i did or they've been waiting for it then, whatever.  Its not like thats the only thing there is to do in the game.  And its not like how good or bad he does is gonna affect my game play that much.  Mabey it'll affect whether my team wins or looses as a good helo pilot can really turn things around for a team, but big deal.  I'll still get kills. I'll still get points.

Not really. That very same thing happenned to me last night. Was waiting to get in the chopper...didn't get a seat...watched it fly about 15 feet off the ground...then the pilot proceeded to lay the thing down on its side...kaboom.

I/we laughed.

Got in when it respawned.
