I could be wrong here, but I believe the Nazi swastika faces rightward, whereas the Buddhist/Hindu symbol faces left.

It was a symbol of peace for quite a few religions including american native tribes which no one mentioned yet, kinda ironic it was used for war since most religions used the symbol for peace.

Perhaps it's time to properly asses what it was for, "for most of history" (and by history I mean thousands of years before 1933), and that is a peace symbol from a basic geometry.



It would be like a tribe of 40 ppl from central asia banning the holy cross from the world cos it was used by someone to kill a family. kinda
