Am I the only one who thinks that the gladius looks kind of gay? I mean, it just looks so short....kinda doesn't seem like a real weapon, y'know?

Gladius is a short sword, its perfectly designed for the close combat that the Roman's used. Its actually based on a Spanish sword. Very effective. Anything longer in those type of battles would be too cumbersome, whereas the gladius allowed for quick accruate stabs.
