"This revelation created an outpouring of sympathy, but an equally large response of ______."

I made this sentence about Assisted Suicide and I'm looking for a good word to end it with. A word that means something like anger, or oppression... something that sounds professional too

ehhmmm... in the same direction... that they never cross (You have to draw a line yourself between them)

I need the opposite of empathy

I have another one too...

"One very important note that the doctors make is that if assisted suicide is legalized it could lead to further devaluing of human life."

I need another word for further devaluing

It's for an Engish essay....some story-like piece of writing that has to show lots of emotion.

That quote is taken from where a car passes another car and loses it.
