(4x-2)/5-(3x-1)/10=0
(8x-4-3x+1)/10=0
(5x-3)/10=0
5x/10-3/10=0
5x/10-0,3=0
5x/10=0,3
5x=0,3x10
5x=3
x=3/5
(8x-4-3x+1)/10=0
(5x-3)/10=0
5x/10-3/10=0
5x/10-0,3=0
5x/10=0,3
5x=0,3x10
5x=3
x=3/5

Exactly. No calcutators needed. I just did it that way in 30 seconds.starkingdoms wrote:
just move the (3x - 1)/10 to the right side. multiply the left side by 2 to get rid of the fractions. then subtract 3x from the 8x, that gives 5x -2 = 1.
then add 2 to the right side, that gives 3. divide 3 by 5 giving x = 3/5
Excuse me, above post has the correct answer, thank you very much.Prodie wrote:
x=3/5
Vub has done it correctly, and to prevent further attempts to solve it and get the wrong answer (see above post) I'll just close this

0 x 10 = 0Zeppo Johnson wrote:
First multiply the hole thing with 10 the and you got:
2(4x-2)-(3x-1)=10
8x-4-3x+1=10
5x-3=10
5x=13
x=13/5
Hmm... I tested it out and the right answer is 3/5. But it doesn't make any sense in my count. Are you sure that there's not any variables or numbers missing?
this guy is exactly rightVub wrote:
Basic steps of algebra:
1. Put over common denominator, in this case, it is 10.
(8x - 4 - 3x + 1)/10 = 0
2. Simplify your numerator.
(5x - 3)/10 = 0
3. Now cross multiply, in this case you times 10 to both sides. 0 x any integer = 0
(5x - 3) = 0
4. Put unknowns on one side, put integers on the other side of the equation.
5x=3
5. Solve
Therefore x = 3/5

How are r and v different?bennisboy wrote:
try this one:
r is a velcity vector of a particle given by:
r=t2i+0.5t3j
t is time and i and j are unit vectors in the horizontal and vertical respectively.
give an equation for the velocity v of the particle

Well, seeing as how that problem's been solved, may I post a riddle here?
