So you buy BF2142 and wonder which weapon is best for yourself, well if you liked a perticular gun I BF2 then here is the list of the weapons' counter parts so you get chose your favorite weapon right off the bat, say you loved the PKM like I did, you would work to unlock the Ganz, or if you liked the AK-101, then you would screw the unlocks and use the Krylov. I would like to point out that some weapons share counter parts qand some others for both games do not really have a counter part. Also the pistols in BF2142 are very different then the BF2 ones so I will not include them, just remeber that the EU and PAC pistols are accually different guns this time.

APM: claymore (though not nearly as overpowered)

ASSUALT

Krylov: AK-101
SCAR-11: AK-74u
Voss: L85A1 (but with better full-auto accuracy)

PK-74: RPG-7 (in terms of drop), M203 (in terms of fire power)
Herzog: S12K (but will alot less shots)

Mitchell SAAW 86: IGLA (but not static like in BF2)
II-14: AT mine (but only disables them, now kills them. Though while disabled they will likely be killed)
II-29: AT mine (but alot cooler)

Although I appreciate your enthusiasm I honestly don't see much point in you doing this. The weapons in BF2142 are nothing like anything in BF2, I don't see how you can compare them. I imagine where this is helpful is whe deciding which unlock "branch" to take when deciding different weapons for the same class - a benefit applicable to the Assault class only I believe. The thing is though, the weapons are too different to be compared to the BF2 weapons. All you seem to be saying is that each class has guns which are similar in purpose - the SMGs are still for short-range personal protection, the LMGs offer covering fire, you can Snipe with a sniper rifle... Do you see what I'm getting at?

I just fail to see the point.

APM: gaymore (though not nearly as gay)

PK-74: RPG-7, M203 (actually a mixture of the two. Its arc is more like the rpg, but the power is of an M203)
Herzog: S12K (it issemi-automatic, but with only 3 shots.)
SG-34: Smokes (bigger coverage, but disperses quickly)
AED-6: Defibrillator
