BF2S Forums 2142 Whores

At the moment things are fairly balanced. Some things need to be improved to make them more realisitc, but everything has it's weakness.

I know what 'whore' I'll be though - Stationary AV! Fuck those guns rule! I can snipe with them better than the Sniper rifles!

I'm sure they'll nerf them on the first patch. Weaken them and add "stationary breathing" or something.

Yep. Plasma for AA, Rail for AV. The AA also has an EMP charge which can lock on to aircraft - at least they say it locks on and you get the tone and all that, but it's less effective than Bf2's old Stingers.

I think the AV is pretty good how it is. It's not very accurate when it's free moving, but you can zoom in a tiny bit to really improve the aim. When your zoomed in though you can't move for shit. It's a good balance I think. Also you have a huge blindspot which makes it easy for people to knife you - I can't count the number of times I creeped up with Active Camo to stab people on AA and AV guns.

Hover tanks seem the best whoring candidate for me.  It's the only thing I can think of with a very steep learning curve with equally steep results (I've heard that new players get slaughtered in those tanks, but experienced players are god in those things).

Also, can someone in a stationary emplacement hear the active camo buzz?

Hover tanks really don't require that much skill. If you've played Halo (for pc), you can fly a hover tank. Anyways, my prediction for the new type of whore will be the knife+camo whore combo.

I'm going to be something of an all-rounder I think, but i'll see what the hover-helis are like, same with the tanks. I'm def going sniper-tree with the recon class though.

I would like to clarify my stance on the term 'whore' and it connotation in bf2. I am pretty sure adding the suffix "whore" to something is originally just some kid's way of expressing his anger because he couldn't get in a helicopter because someone was bogarting it. Over time we just started attaching the label to things we didn't approve of.

Really "whore" doesn't mean anything more than someone who is good at getting a vehicle/kit/item, and then proceeding to do well in/with it. I cite the term "medic whore". People play medic, rez and get 2 points a rez, it can add up very quickly, in some cases you can come out #1 on the round due to large number of rezes alone. It becomes pretty obvious in this case that the suffix "whore" doesn't mean anything more than someone who uses the kit a lot, and moreover does well with it. Anyone can play a medic, and with enough practice do well on points from rezzes and kills.

If you are asking what will be the next most popular thing in 2142... I am going to have to say solo walkers (the anti-air is low damage, and kind of boring, nothing like being the gunner in a helicopter), followed by the assault kit (for the rocket launcher). I think the hover tank will be underrated till someone posts a video of complete pwnage in it, at which time they will release a patch to tone down the distance, and/or damage.

I also think the least popular things in the game will be the grenades, engineer kit, and apcs.

Recon and the Optical cameoflage/ invisiblity. every noob in BF2 wants knife badges. well EA/DICE basically gave out the new knife badges ( dogtags) on a silver platter.


i like some of the stuff of 2142. but i am not going to get it at this time. ill wait until people get the game only to run back to www.bf2s.com or any of these forums saying " this game sucks ass, too many CTD and bugs and what not"
