When I hear of burning crosses I think of the KKK...

I'm an athiest, I don't have a "symbol", what are they going to do?  Burn thin air?  Hand me a blank bit of paper and call it a cartoon?  That said they also want to do in "unbelievers", and pretty much want to take over the world, so I'm still in the "evil westerner" basket.

By "they" I mean the extremists, of course, I'm aware there are moderates who disaprove.

If we had big protests every time they said "kill all westerners" etc and gave the same proportionate level of response they do, do you think they'd A)apologise B)not care or C)start a war (eventually)

No, some people here label religion the root of all evil.  Name one prominent personality who has called Christianity the root of all evil.

Here is a quote from the United Kingdom Treason Act:

"if a man do levy war against our lord the King in his realm, or be adherent to the King’s enemies in his realm, giving to them aid and comfort in the realm, or elsewhere, and thereof be probably attainted of open deed by the people of their condition"

Still valid today, although in old text, these extremists are committing treason and should be punished for their crime justly.

We don't have freedom of speech in this country.  When Muslims carried banners that said "behead those who oppose Islam", they thought that freedom of speech would mean they got away with it.  They were later identified, arrested and charged with something (I forget what).

There are "faith" groups, admittedly the ones that preach about doing terrorist-type things, that are banned in this country.

So, is freedom of speech all it's cracked up to be?  Should we have freedom of speech in this country?
With freedoms come responsibility......Think about that..........

Are you going to stand up FOR someones right to yell FIRE!!! in a dark movie theater????

The problem is people in this country are in a moral decline, pushing the envelope of responsibility toward their freedoms and privileges.

People are acting more like fools than ever before and screaming their rights have been violated when they are called to answer for their actions..

"People are acting more like fools than ever before and screaming their rights have been violated when they are called to answer for their actions.."

That is probably the most honest thing anyone has said. people are to quick to point the finger of blame at others rather than step up to the play and take responsibility for their actions.
That said, I think muslims are begining to push the free world a little too far towards the edge now. Christians dont push their religion on others, well, not since the crusaides lol.

If you look at the behaviour in the UK over the last few years, it asks some serious questions. Would you be able to travel to a muslim country and denounce their primary religion, burn their religious symbols, riot against their police and security services, use their country and the wealth it spawns through capitalism and democracy to fund and spawn insurgency and fuel hatred towards that country????  I think not. Why is our government permitting this. What would  our forefathers who fought for our freedom make of it?  We have allowed the modern day enemy to live next door, to challenge the vey fabric and composition of our society from within.  Now the task is remedial as we have to undo the mistakes which have allowed this to happen.

Look, I cant remember who wrote this thread but the dutch people didn't make the cartoons,
it was danish.

I'm danish and proud I AM NOT A RACIST.
Well first off, the cartoons were a little offending.
But everybody has the rights to say what they want and so on.
Every Muslim FREAKED over some cartoons, they burned flags. But wait...
Over half of them, maybe 75% didn't know where Denmark were placed and so on.
My personal opinion is that Muslims are taking it Way to serious, then they make it even worse when they add a little story each time it gets told and most of them are just doing what the other Muslims do, they don't even know what happened and so on.

remember, I am not a racist.
