BF:2142 Breif Overview

Here is a quick overview of the gameplay aspects announced by EA. Some of this we already know, some is new.

* Battlefield 2142 will run on the same system as Battlefield 2

* Battlefield 2142 will not support wide screen

* Battlefield 2142 will not support "No Vehicles" aka 'Infantry Only'

* Battlefield 2142 will not feature "Vehicle-drops"

* Titan mode will support 48 players, not 32 as announced earlier

* Battlefield 2142 will not ship with BFTV

* There will come a Battlefield 2142-demo, with a new map

* There will be in-game advertising in Battlefield 2142

* Battlefield 2 will have continued support after the release of Battlefield 2142

* Players can use their unlocks on the single-player portion of the game, if they are connected to the internet

* There will be "Newbie-Servers" for players that have been away from the game, under a certain rank

* There are no console-plans for Battlefield 2142

* Battlefield 2142 will feature "Away-bonus" for players thats been away for a while

it all sounds good. so far. vehicle drops were pretty useless as on BF2 no one would listen to u when u asked for one.

The commanders in BF2 are pretty useless in general, not the vehicle drops.

Advertising... well... EA/DICE is a company, and companies try to make money. So long as it's not overdone (say, a McDonalds ad on a billboard. Not to mention that I predict that McDonalds will last until the year 2142 anyways), and placed where an ad would be anyways, I'm fine with it. No wide-screen support... well, if it supported wide-screen, the regular-screen users would whine about how the wide-screeners got an advantage. I'm not sure what BFTV is, but the rest seems to be pure improvement.

i dont understand why all TITAN SERVER ON THE BETA was 32 player.. and why the full game doesnt support it ?
vehicle drops where cool .. because its mutch more basic on teamplay.. example: a fieldupgrade for squads who play together and and do his orders..
and a inf only will come for sure.. like other other maps.. etc

Umm, I beg to differ. I used to command with my mic and at the time had recently discovered how closely I can zoom into the fight. IF there were a good amount of well stocked squads, we'd win, with the squad leaders goin "good job commander," Which ALWAYS felt good:p I think what you guys really mean to address is the lack of initiative to use teamwork in bf2 in general, with mics and all.
