My g/f and I have 2 dogs, both are little ones.  One Chihuahua that is about 5 1/2 months old, and a Jack Russel/Chihuahua mix that is about 2 1/2 months old.  They are both excellent dogs.  The youngest one doesnt bark at anything, the oldest one only barks at people he doesnt know, or if something scares him.  I honestly was surprised at the personality and character in both of these dogs.  Here are a couple pics of them playing around a couple weeks ago.  Besides, I live in an apartment, you cant expect large dogs to be welcome there.  Sorry I dont have any better pics of them.  Obviously taken with my phone, and I thought the quality would be a bit better, and the pics would be smaller when I uploaded them.

Sorry for your loss Echo, loosing a dog is like loosing a good friend. I had another black lab before my current one, she was only 7 (about the prime age for a lab) trained to perfection and about as loyal as they come. She had to be put down when she got a tumor of sorts in her stomach, it essentially meant that she couldn't eat anything, so had to be done.

Didn't hit me at the time but after a week it got me, it's never a good expierence even though you know you've helped the pain stop for them.
Thanks mate. True, he was one of my best friends. He was as sweet as he was big really. It hurt me a lot to see my healthy dog turn into a pile of misery which was beyond help over a week. He got 3 or 4 severe epilectic seasures everyday at which he lost all bodyly funtions and control of his mussles. These attacks lasted like 3 minutes or so. Its a heart breaking event to watch cause there's really nothing else you can do except to try and keep him from hurting himself and comfort him. Having him put to sleep was the only option left. I ve been with him all the way in the end, he was first given a shot to go to sleep so he wont notice anything and then given a mussle relaxer to stop his heart as he's sleeping. He was cremated and his ashes where scattered over the north sea.

When our Police K9 (a Belgian Malinois) is retired from active duty in a year, I'll get custody of him. He's an attack and drug dog. Funny thing is their are only two deputies that he likes, his handler and Me (since i'm never the guy that wears the red bite suit and pisses him off).
Wow thats an awesome dog mate. I ve been thinking about getting a Malinois sheppard too. Btw what kind of vest is he wearing in the pic, is it some kind of body armor or just to let people its a police dog?

All dogs are basically good. If they are annoying or mean (or whatever) it's because the humans raised them wrong(like kids). Anyone agree?
