My windows loading is very slow..

i bought new pc ....
installed DVD DRIVE INSTALLED ,WINDOWS XP SP2
I meen the blue s** when the windows start... is very slow
I installed all the drivers except windows updtae and BIOS update...
I dont tuch the BIOS
I have AMD3800x2
1 GB RAM
ASUS M2N-E
80 GB SATA2

try createing a new xp account and loogin on with that ... could be something with your profile ...

Or is this occuring beofre ur even prompted to login? Also any clues in the event log?

Could be that he has a bunch of programs set to start on system boot.
Could be a slightly overheated CPU just underclocking itself to slow down.
Could be that his automatic updates are on and it finishes installing the updates on boot.

Good link. I got my Sept issue on Maximun PC, they had this on the demo disc http://www.windowsstartup.com/ . I may give it a try, I wonder how it will do on Vista.

Check that in the BIOS. Change your boot order to search CDROM then Hard Drive, disable floppy if you don't have one.

179MB usage is normal for Windows XP
