History.

Bought BF2 & SF, love it played it, etc.

Talked wife into playing, after she created her own account under my account.

Wife buys game, lots of fun to be had.

Now patch 1.4 comes out, no problem we install along with Armored Fury.

We play together a few times.

HERE IS THE ISSUE.

Out of nowhere we can't log on to the same server anymore?

It gives me a connection problem every time I do or she does, whoever tried first gets into game not second.

This only started happening recently and after we had already played 1.4 several times together.

Any suggestions?  Helpful (key word) advice?

I think to combat the whole CTD issues BF2 had, they increased the 'chatter' on the network. I remember I could have 4 people playing at once on my 512Kbps conn with 1.3, but now network traffic has increased and we can hardly play 3 people at once.

Netgear Wireless G router

Internal Wireless G card

Twin computers.

HP ZD7000 p4 3.0 ghtz,  2 gig RAM,  128 Nvidia Video

The odd part is it just started out of nowhere.

I've changed nothing on either comp, cause once it was all working life was good.

I thought that maybe since she created her account originally under my account... but we had played together already under the new patch just fine.

I have had problem with wireless.

In our house my computer is hardwired to the router, however my little bro has a laptop so he uses the wireless, just recently he has been unable to play BF2 over the wireless, it just gives him connection errors after a few minutes of playing. However if he plugs in via UTP its no problem. We have a 24meg/sec connection so its not our internet... very strange.

Our solution, use cables, wireless sux

Try hosting a LAN match and see if your wife can join.

Well we got in together last night after 2 days.

Still not sure what the damn problem was.

Seemed related to us both logging at exact same time before one or the others progess bar had started.

I'm not going to speculate, my brain hurts.

Does it make sense, no, do I care... well if I can play then no.

Good luck and happy hunting to you all.
