So far 300+ Billion have been spent in Iraq on this war, which I still argue was the right thing, just not fought aggressively enough. http://costofwar.com/numbers.html

270 Billion have been spent on Homeland Security and the illegal aliens still flood across our border.  http://nationalpriorities.org/

Where is the accountability for all this money.
Who is getting rich.
Where is my rope and a strong tree so we can hang these fuckers that are ruining this nation.

Please refrain from spewing conspriacy nonsense about 9-11
What i want to know is, where is it going, and why so much.

Thats easy, government contractors. There's no liability or morals in that area. Its common for companies to overestimate, steal, do half the job, or no job at all, and still get paid enormous sums by the government. Accountability is zero, its pathetic. Especially pathetic that for the most part its Americans stealing from their own government.

The money seems to disappear in paper work, especially for illegal immigration in this country..

There is a problem with Civil War.  I was talking about this earlier today, actually.  We are now very much a victim of our own power.  The key lies in our military might.  Our military will stay loyal to the commander in chief and the present system.  That's a rather imposing and capeable force

I'm not so sure they would stay loyal if a case could be made that we are being destroyed.

Our oil companies do not control the cost per barrel of oil. Please research this. They make money on the refining and distribution of oil. OPEC is who you need to talk to with regards to middle eastern oil exports.

True but while they do not control it, they can influence it, if they decide to withhold a few million barrels the price may go up a few cents, they hold back a few billion, well you see what can happen.

My entire family is in the oil trade and we all know enough to get us by, but the worlds oil market is far to complex to even begin to describe, surfice it to say that oil companies have their hands in more than you might imagine, and they have control over alot more than what just the stuff that goes into your cars and into your homes.

Thats simple minded nonsense.
Halliburton is as directly responcible for the Homeland security fraud as george bush is for deciding war policy.

If oil companies where in the business of withholding oil I don't think they would be drilling all over the Gulf of Mexico.

A few months ago NBC showed this hospital or school (can't remember) somewhere in Iraq, where it was estimated the construction would cost 5-10 million or something, and so far we've spent something around 50 million on the project and it's already a year after the estimated time they thought it would be finished...

I think the system has developed with so many checks and balances against itself but long since abandoned and check and balance on the system as a unit.  This is in theory achieved through democratic election, but this in practice is defeated by the electoral college and further beaten to a pulp through lobbyists and a lust for money and power in general.

At the same time, I wonder how much we are dealing with as a nation vs. dealing with as a global society.  We put ourselves on center stage, so everything is magnified and naturally tends to be ecocentric.  I think the issue needing to be dealt with is larger than simply an American problem, but a problem with the global society.

That being said, before I worry about trying to fix a global community, my first concern is our ailing domestic community.  I simply wonder what can be done with this beast at such a point as this.

The oil argument is by far the stupidest. Only people who have zero comprehension of how the oil market works states something as idiotic as that. If it was about oil why did we leave after the first gulf war ? Do you have any idea who dictates the price of oil?
The rest of the stuff I'll listen to.

yeah, I know a lot of people in the military, and I can honestly say that if a civil war happend that most of them would abandon there posts to go home to defend their families.
