Hey guys, I was at a luncheon today promoting the millenium partnership. Proffessor Jeff Sachs was the speaker. He is a leading advisor to the likes of Bill clinton and kofi annan. He has a bestselling book with a forward written by Bono.
His mission is to reduce world poverty and promote sustainable communities. Did you know that the Pentagon spends $1.5 billion a day on the war in Iraq? With that much, every "sleeping site" in Africa could be completely supplied with bug nets. why bug nets? the bug nets reduce mosquitoe bites and thus reduces the cases of malaria by half! with $5 USD you can supply some lucky person with a bug net.

Because the US throws money away on stupid campaigns like Iraq, when there was no need. That money could have been much better used elsewhere. Not just in the 3rd world. How much would free health care cost for US citizens - I reckon a $1.5 billion a day on top of existing government spending might cover that nicely.

Wouldn't you prefer to have free health care over having a war in Iraq which has created more problems than it solved?
