so it's the dem's fault that trump downplayed and ignored coronavirus warnings from his experts. they were impeaching him! he was stressed!

hindsight is 20/20 but foresight and forewarning are pretty useful, too. hence why a great number of countries have contained coronavirus.

i really hope i don't misunderstand you when you say that maybe humans can 'adapt' to warmer environments. please tell me you're not talking about evolution.

again, you're a little loose with the details.

he first shut down flights to china and allowed flights to europe. why was he selective when europe at that point also had cases of coronavirus?

why would they call him 'racist' if he indeed shut down 'flights to china and europe'? even your default excuses aren't logical.

where did the NYC epidemic originate from? europe. what's the most virulent strain of covid-19 in the US? the one from europe.

I'll respond to your other post later, but he was not called racist simply for banning flights. Other countries had already restricted flights to and from China well before Trump. The difference was in messaging, which was also apparent here so many thousands of kilometers away.

Trump explicitly labelled it 'the foreign virus', 'the Chinese virus' and other related epithets implying some innate quality associated with the country and as if viral infections give a toss about borders or our projected identities.

Had he been more muted and focused on covid-19 rather than shoehorning this into his CHINA BAD rhetoric he wouldn't have suffered near the same reaction, but what can you do?

the media rightfully criticised plans to ban flights from china when the virus was already out of china. that's because it makes little sense. we've had this discussion before.

you want to know what's dishonest, bordering on racist? calling it 'wuhan bat flu' and disseminating fake leaks to the media about 'wuhan chemical labs'. doing so purposefully when people are asking you tough questions.

a total flight ban could have been justified on grounds of 'protecting the nation'. but your airports had zero protections, testing, screening, anything really, for months into the global pandemic. wasn't there a huge video circulating of a bunch of people rammed in an arrivals lounge? like hundreds of them in one space, cramming to get through? yeah, that couldn't have been handled at all better.

I can't speak to the racial politics of the military officer class. (???)

From an outside perspective, I would expect 2/3 of the white military to go along with Trump if it came to it. That's not too far off from the White American voting patterns.
