I think it's fairly safe to say that the only thing we have to learn from each other is further contempt. You have reinforced the heavy aversion I have for technocracy, and made me very happy that my grandparents chose to leave Europe behind. I suppose I should thank you.
First complain about all the old people you'll need to treat then be horrified doctors here have leeway to prioritise.

Europe is diverse and it's not the same everywhere. This is more typical to northern European countries. The population knows and understands. If you're already well past average life expectancy and still demand resources and doctors be diverted to maybe elongate your already well lived life, you're a deeply selfish individual. Thankfully it's more common to hear the oldies say that hospital staff should take more care of the younger people around them.

jay is such a vicious, vituperative little man. he's acquired all the thuggery and quickness to anger/rantiness that the worst parts of the right-wing sanction. in short, 'angry men shouting and losing their composure is cool, women showing emotion is bad'. jay is the most emotional person of anyone on this forum and yet he'll flip modes and start talking as if it's cicero and the most reasoned, levelheaded person in the room. a very odd and very disconcerting little act.

I played golf on sunday and it felt fan-fucking-tastic.

1 person per cart, 1 person in the pro shop at a time, no end-of-round handshakes, little carom bumper-like apparatus in the hole so you don't have to reach down and grab your ball out.

It felt good to get back out there. And after not playing for 3 months i was still able to shoot in the 80s. Go me!

I've come to accept that my sports fandom will manifest in drastically different ways now and forever going forward. I was debating with one of my friends about going to live sporting events. He's a little younger so he's a bit more gung-ho, but I am fairly certain i will not attend a live sporting event without being vaccinated.

Americans are told to wash hands to fight coronavirus. But some don’t trust the tap. 5/5
https://www.washingtonpost.com/national … story.html

For the Chavez family and many others in California’s fertile San Joaquin Valley, bottled water is the toilet paper of their coronavirus pandemic — an everyday necessity that vanished from supermarket shelves.

In the Navajo Nation, where about a third of the population lacks indoor plumbing, volunteers are creating public hand-washing stations by repurposing detergent bottles as makeshift faucets.

And Jessica Endicott, who lives in the tiny community of Turkey Creek in eastern Kentucky, said the virus has exacerbated distrust of the local water, which leaves her skin red and itchy every time she bathes.

Having plundered several major cities, the novel coronavirus is taking root in marginalized rural communities. Many of them lack clean water, making it impossible for residents to shelter at home or wash their hands frequently.

Nice! I spent all Sunday in my friends pool with the kids. First time socializing like a normal person in almost 2 months.

los alamos research has identified the now dominant strain of covid as being a mutation originating in europe. more contagious than original disease.

remember when trump closed borders to china and europeans brought covid to new york? yeah, that. ditto japan. closed border to china and allowed americans and europeans.

but it’ll disappear by august.

He's already said he'd sacrifice at least another 40,000 Americans, if not more, for his child to attend kindergarten. I imagine he'd gladly kill off every forum member with an ice pick for a summer BBQ.

Cops in western Texas said they arrested a bar owner and a group of armed men Monday after they violated the state's order.

Ector County Sheriff Mike Griffis said during a news conference Tuesday that his officers were alerted that the owner of Big Daddy Zane's in West Odessa, Texas, opened her bar even though Gov. Greg Abbott's reopening plan explicitly mandated that bars remain closed. When officers arrived, they saw six men in body armor and armed rifles standing outside the establishment, according to Griffis.

"This was not a protest of their second amendment rights. It was a show of force to ensure this lady could violate the governor’s order," Griffis told reporters.

Wow, those Texas officers are not cucks. They are a bunch of secret gays and prots but definitely not cucks.

I can just imagine a hairdresser being threatened to open up and cut hair or people will come to her house and beat her up, and I don't think it's too far outside realistic possibilities. Maybe it's already happened.

Why? There's thousands of hair dressers that would voluntarily open up if they were allowed.

There's thousands of restaurants people could eat at if they don't like the one they're at, but that didn't stop people from acting stupid and violent (at restaurants) even before this pandemic.

The sheriff should let the arresting officers keep the captured fancy gear and weapons. The protesters forfeited it when they surrendered like cowards.

Jay gleefully talking up torches, pitchforks, casting people off roofs, and a general revolt against sciences close to the same point of time he supported the libertarian politician's objection to the display of firearms by countermeasures protesters. We're the venomous ones but he would tear out our hearts for two months of kindergarten classes, or an afternoon spent farting in his neighbor's pool. One can scarcely make sense of it.
