I just wanna make boardgame racetracks cause they're all 20years out of print and eBay prices are $50 a track.

It's that or get them printed in large format or something which is also not much cheaper. I'm not expecting greatness it could be a fun project

You're better off just paying someone else to make it for you. Setup costs are very high.

Expensive to outsource too for simple stuff from what I remember seeing. Cheap ish after you buy the printer if you don't need crazy detail.

Then get one that uses open source or free CAD software. CAD licenses are expensive.

Yes, if you can find cheap material. The price varies widely.

Autodesk Fusion 360 is a good bet at present, free for hobbyists, if I hadn't got locked in with Solidworks ten years ago I'd pick that - although I've never tried it.

There are a lot of cooperatives and hobbyists around who will let you run files on their machines for free or a small fee plus the cost of the material.

An option if you're making many large parts is to make a silicone mould from one part then make the actual part in urethane - but you do need a vacuum chamber.
Then it is worthwhile to get a quality prototype.
