Stuff that you are probably well aware of given your education. Further keeping in mind that this is a young student, I would keep derision to a minimum.

I would much rather respond to your pre-edit rant, so I will. What got her into trouble wasn't that she was trying to be dynamic and engaging and connect with her students. The problem was that she, an adult in charge of a bunch of kids, put on a fake headdress and whooped around class, in 2021. A class with an indigenous student even, to exacerbating effect. What century does she think she's in? It's totally oblivious.

What also amazes me is that she's done this before and nobody's alarm bells went off. None of the admins pulled her aside and pointed out where her intentions might be misconstrued?

Again, this sounds reasonable, although a full year sounds still a little punitive even if it is paid leave.

Caveat, I don't have any school admin training unless you want to count practical from that time I already talked about before while I was still in school. I never made a graph investigating the viability of donning blackface or bouncing around American history class doing a hey-ya-ya-ya dance. I think back even then it would have obviously been a Bad Idea.

Then that seems like it's good enough. Sad that she screwed up so early into the year, but I think a year out gets the message across.

Lesson learned for teachers around the country, stop doing this kind of stuff if you are. Use your #*& brain.

Students being dicks sometimes doesn't really explain Chief Trigonometry up there. Have you ever taught history by pantomiming a stereotype? Do you remember going to school at all? There's a lot of bullshit teenagers have to deal with in life sometimes. Granted, spitting on your teacher is one of the steps too far, and should be an expulsion imo if it isn't already in your district.

At least you have the presence of mind to figure you probably shouldn't be showing a bunch of kids your personal collection of Nazi uniforms, that it would definitely be taken the wrong way. Take them on a museum field trip or something. Put on a video.

I am putting all of these into storage since I don't want to display them at my new place. I wanted one last picture. The more I tried to fix the white one, the more he fell apart. I like to look at this picture and pretend the others just found their buddy like this.
