Can we talk about how Iran is a state sponsor of terrorism? Why is Saudi Arabia being targeted despite Iran causes many more American deaths than 9/11?

Iran already has sanctions and assets frozen. Why double down.

I am just annoyed that lefties like to talk about Iran like they are well cultured perpetual victims of the west. They got countless Americans killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. Their links to Hezbollah are a lot clearer and direct than Saudi Arabia's are to AQ. Many of the problems in the ME stem from Iran.

do you understand the factional strife in the middle east between sunni and shia?  I know you do, so it's a little silly that you kind of dumb it down by talking about Saudi Arabia and Iran.  The problems in the Middle East are largely the result of religious factionalism.

Saudi = Sunni center of gravity

Iran = Shia center of gravity

It's not really dumbing it down, in terms of Sunni-Shia strife.

However, tribalism is a far more prevalent issue.

Iran has been funding and empowering Shia militias in Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, and Syria. Those groups would not have the military and financial power to wage sectarian conflicts if it wasn't for Iran. Shia-Sunni relations were not nearly as bad as they are now before the Islamic Revolution in Iran. In fact I would lay most of the blame on the conflicts in Syria and Iraq right now on Iran.

Israel would not have the military and financial power to wage sectarian conflict but for America.

I would lay most of the blame for Iran on America for supporting a wholly corrupt Shah and paving the way for the Islamic Revolution.
Same argument for Cuba, and a few other countries.
Fuck Israel

No one but westerners care about Palestine anymore. Israel is at peace with all its Sunni neighbors.

Iranians and Cubans have agency. They are responsible for their actions.

What we need to do in Syria is expensive but necessary.

The U.S. and Europe needs to work with Turkey, Jordan, and moderate opposition to create safe zones carved out of ISIS territory. Meanwhile, we arm, and train refugee men and teens to hold that territory and provide security for themselves. We then resettle the other refugees in this safe zone.
