I don't know why any parent would put their children into youth football nowadays. There is increasing evidence that you will take brain damage if you play football long enough. Why would you put your child at risk like that? The quarterback at Warren Hills Regional High School died Friday night after being injured in a varsity football game.
The entire school community was mourning the death of Evan Murray, a senior, said interim schools Superintendent Gary Bowen.
Bowen said grief counselors would be available for students at the Warren County high school at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Murray was a three-sport athlete at Warren Hills and starting quarterback for three years. He also played baseball and basketball.
If my child was interested in youth team sports, I would definitely guide them into something much safer like soccer or baseball. People get injured in those sports but they don't take brain damage every time they play.
