I like when people have these weird nonsensical narratives on life that are in no way based on reality and then use that as a lens to explain why we are the way we are.  It makes me laugh.

I never took a sociology class in high school or college.  If I did i can't remember anything from it

All the shit you are saying about safe spaces and militancy for cis white males exists in a small little corner of the internet and maybe some small college campus groups.  It's by no means mainstream, and it's not going to be.  To use the very real existence of people like that as evidence that the world is splintering into smaller and more niche factions is silly.  That's why it's so easy for me to laugh and dismiss - it's like people complaining about crack addicted black single mothers on welfare and Mexican anchor babies.

Throw up tariffs, nationalize businesses, blame your banking class for all ills, blame migrants and other minorities for stealing jobs, promise socialist reform to help the populace, keep populace in line with a private army, build up military

Add all these up and instead of a powerhouse nation you'll end up with massive national debt, no trade partners, and no access to capital. The Nazis HAD to go to war because they were economically retarded. Instead of national greatness they were headed for a quick flameout.

you should read some historical analyses of nazism. the logic of their policy makes perfect sense. roughly speaking, you can schematise it in two ways - economic and ideological. economically, nazism was the absolute realisation of the bourgeois state. ideologically, it was the aestheticisation of politics. communism was the absolute realisation of the worker's state and the politicisation of aesthetics.

you think the nazis are confused because they nationalised business and blamed minorities for stealing jobs? those views are not inconsistent at all. also they never promised 'socialist reform'. the socialism in 'national socialism' was a propagandist tool, existing in name only as a contradistinction to the many socialist creeds and revolutionary ideas that were all over europe in the 19th century. nazism was about a profound concentration of power in the nation-state model; socialism is about a profound concentration of power in the proletariat (sometimes including the peasants).

No? Because I see college students cracking down on each other for expressing unpopular opinions. I see people defining themselves based on their sexuality, their race, and whatever else they can in order to make them both unique and a victim. I see calls for safe spaces and militancy towards cis white males.

But hey, I'm making it all up, right? The world isn't splintering into ever smaller groups of like minded individuals jamming their fingers in their ears in order to avoid reality.

why does it offend you that a minority of people decide to extol their tumblr-level social identity politics in public? and how exactly is that 'sociology' as taught on college campuses across the nation, tout court? most of classical sociology is about people like comte, weber, simmel, veblen, marcuse etc. this whole perception of it being a bunch of pampered kids whining about being 'triggered' is like something you'd read on an angry conservative blog.
