It's heart-warming to see all my favorite people (around my age) autonomously create and hammer the same basic and obvious talking points against the destruction of America. We saw this unfold first-hand over the last thirty years and we're trying to protect young people in a way that Boomers did not protect us.

Even liberals (dumb as they are) want Americans to be happier and better off. Tech bros do not. They want slaves to maintain dating apps so they can sell your information. They borrow free money to buy competitive technology so they can destroy it. They want political influence to lobby for regulatory monopolies so their stocks go up. That's it.

i don’t think the tech-bros are putting the toothpaste back in the tube when it comes to the schism over h1b’s and american labour. an awful lot of STEM graduates were replying to elon with their plight, graduating and trying to enter the workforce in the last few years, especially compounded by the messianic AI technology that SV is hyping.

Most people pass through soft centrist liberalism on their way to cynicism. Its just a phase people have to go through.

people voted for this. fence-sitters voted for this. literally talked to people who said they picked trump because they couldn't understand what harris was saying. lolwat. there's no way they bothered listening to trump. when people are ignorant or dismissive of even the stuff he said he's going to do that would negatively impact them personally, i don't expect them to care much about how other people will be affected by the new political climate.

it's alright for elon musk to get hair plugs, take government money, change his name to kekius maximus, change his profile pic to long-expired, hate-symbol pepe, and expect the whole internet to get swept along on the sad ride of his extended, anti-woke middle age crisis and bizarre infatuation with comic book heroes who if they were real would detest him and his politics. it's not alright for trans people in their small numbers and influence to expect people to respect their changed names/pronouns, expect not to be mocked and bullied by their own families, driven out of their communities, harassed online by transvestigators, or discriminated against. let alone get assistance for gender-affirming surgery, or get gender-affirming surgery at all. that would of course be ridiculous! "lol attack helicopters."

elon is just speedrunning 'online' culture's political arc from, say, 2014-2024. in his particularly lame way, he's still "Wow."'ing and reposting things "for the lulz" as if 4chan /pol/ culture is still at the forefront of internet culture.

at some point mainstream society are going to tire of the petulant, spoiled, manchild act, and we're all going to have to get on with the arduous and painful task of wresting back control from these tech oligarchs. they are dweebs and the whole emperor's new clothes self-fashioning as great titanic shapers of the universe is as out-of-date as crinoline.
