a bangladeshi muslim got elected councillor for brooklyn. the first muslim woman too.

there are 800,000 muslims in the city. where are all the brooklyn-based extremist groups committing atrocities, since they've reached such a critical mass? i thought that was your little racial thesis?

how could such a backwards and unadaptable group produce a city councillor. a WOMAN?!

really make u think macbeth that perhaps not all muslims are a fifth column lying in wait for the day they can restart the caliphate. it's almost like ... many of them are secular citizens, partaking in democratic society (and even its political system) without friction or hostility.

They're gonna get absolutely crushed in the midterms if they continue this milquetoast strat of "at least we're not Republicans", and yet I saw another article saying they ought to wait until after 2022 to pass infrastructure because then voters would give them a mandate for it. Anyhow, National Review ran an article about how the loss in Virginia was because of national backlash to Democrat's tax and spend policies in Washington. They summarized that the Infrastructure bill the Democrats will pass will DeStRoY vulnerable moderate Democrats.

I really hope none of the Democrats are dumb enough to think that. The loss in Virginia is the result of a bad campaign in an off year election. It's not some big national backlash against the Democrats sending people stimulus checks.

I saw that the "build back better" plan has $150 Billion set aside to build affordable housing. Of course this was cut down from the $300 billion that was initially proposed. That would have created 3 million new affordable units but now I guess we will have to settle for 1.5 million because reasons.

I also suspect that the money for affordable housing will be something that will drive Republicans crazy. On the one hand, that much building will keep plenty of tradespeople busy. On the other hand, affordable housing is code word for black people.

There's actually a reddit thread in /r/politics about them talking about terrorist attacks. Anyhow, they look at the Islamist for inspiration because the right wing Islamist outlasted the U.S. in almost every conflict we had with them. That's what they say at least. I think it has a lot more to do with all of those ISIS war videos looking like a good times with the boys. Run around dressed like ninja with a gun? Kill some dudes you don't like and literally steal their women? Sounds badass. These right wing white guys desperately need a Crusade to keep them busy.

Speaking of stealing Islamist aesthetics...The most dangerous Mexican cartel, Jalisco New Generation Cartel, is using the same kind of look and extreme violence in their videos as ISIS. It's worrisome since they are militarized and also pitching themselves as the "good cartel", defenders of the Mexican people. 



Looks like fun. Double since they live in a country where hookers and drugs are plentiful.
