I think once people actually hear what AOC sounds like they might have a different impression of her compared to what they read. She doesn't look how she talks. She speaks white. Or at least white enough which is important.
I am a brown person and assumed she spoke like Rosie Perez before I listened to her. I can only imagine what Natural Ice Nebraska might think. .

Ilhan Omar's accent is way worse than I I imagined it to be. I assumed she spoke like I don't know an inner city Africa American. Queen latifah if we are keeping it 90's for a moment.

I was somewhat supportive of Omar up until I heard her talk. You may think that is shallow of me but I think that the only way we are going to keep this whole multiracial blah blah blah thing together is if we at least maintain a certain level of mutual comprehension. And we should promote that instead of struggling to understand Omar.

To add to my point regarding Omar's voice: Her thick accent immediately makes me think "foreigner." Her biting criticism about the basic functions of our government and culture, while mostly true our culture is toxic, seem ungrateful and ignorant. Especially since she lives her willingly and came as a refugee. Non-Americans can certainly criticize the U.S. but I expect a refugee camp survivor to be more appreciative of the country they live. It's like a Holocaust survivor calling the U.S. deeply antisemitic.

I am watching the Biden-Bernie debate. It's just the two of them and no crowd. I really like there not being a crowd. I highly suggest you watch this debate if you usually hate the format.
Biden is sharp tonight. He is 2008 Joe again. Biden seems to do very well one on one and without a crowd. For the first time he seems like someone who can debate Trump. I think Biden won tonight's debate based solely off of that fact.
Bernie is also doing much better than he does in those free for all debates. His arguments are better and more consistent. He is winning the debate on substance if that at all matters. Joe is also too angry when debating.
