An American terrorism commentator has apologised for describing Birmingham as a "Muslim-only city" where non-Muslims "don't go" during a Fox News interview

This "expert" is a chump.

It is sad that such utter morons are in demand to go on the news as "experts", purely because they spout the rhetoric that the news program wishes to push on the public as fact.

He is now making a charitable donation to the "beautiful" (his words - I think it's a shithole) city of Birmingham.

The PUSSIFICATION of America.

It's sad that some dummy spouting off just reinforces the international community's view of Americans.

Criticism of Islam = Freedom of speech
Criticism of Jews = antisemitism
If the cartoons were about Jewish people, the media would treat this whole thing a lot different.

Think about that next time you hear people in the media lamenting about freedom of speech. Lets face it, Jews make up a huge part of the U.S. media. The only reason we are at war with Islam is because of our support for Israel and the Jewish "right" to the land. It wouldn't surprise me if the a good portion of the murdered cartoonist were Jewish. The French, Americans, and everyone else has to get dragged down into this conflict because of God's chosen people

Even your example is retarded, Mac. Criticism of Islam is of the religion whereas criticism of Jews, you know, ... the people IS anti-semitism.

I thought Judaism was a religion? Jews say that Judaism is just a religion whenever they want to fit in with whites. Then they say it is a separate race whenever they need to complain about antisemitism. They do this switching all the time whenever it is convenient for them. Whatever they want to be at whatever point doesn't matter. If you start to draw cartoons mocking Rabbis, you are going to be called antisemitic. There isn't a joke a non-Jew can make about them.

so
criticism of Islam is equal to criticism of Judaism
criticism of Muslims is equal to criticism of Jews
but
criticism of Islam =/= criticism of Jews

MacB does actually have a valid grain of sand wrapped around his pearl of dissonance though.  I think criticisms of Muslims (as Muslims) in general ARE a bit more widespread and socially accepted than criticism of Jews as Jews.  Of course either one is stupid because to tag someone's religion as a defining factor in their character traits is a bit ignorant (like how the US media likes to mention a WHITE cop killed a BLACK man).  Why can't it just be stupid people being stupid and we can call it a day?

Well no. Criticism of jews is just criticism of jews.
"Antisemitism is prejudice against, hatred of, or discrimination against Jews as a national, ethnic, religious or racial group."
Criticism doesn't form part of that, although that's how any criticism is spun now.

Its interesting that we've reached the point where:

Anything can be said about Islam, muslims, any Islamic nation, in fact its encouraged.

Nothing can be said about Judaism, jews, or Israel - any remotely critical or negative comment - that's anti-Semitism and its not allowed.

12 Europeans are killed by Islamic zealots - heads of state and millions of citizens march in protest.

1200 Palestinians are killed by Jewish zealots - no-one gives a shit

CONTROVERSIAL FRENCH COMEDIAN Dieudonné has been arrested over comments he made seeming to express solidarity with one of last week’s killer gunmen.
On Monday, Diudonné wrote on his Facebook page, “Tonight, as far as I’m concerned, I feel like Charlie Coulibaly”.
It is was a reference to Amedy Coulbaly who is believed to have shot a Paris policewoman the day after the Charlie Hebdo attacks and was killed by police after shooting dead four people at a Jewish supermarket the following day.
Dieudonne made his controversial Facebook post after attending Sunday’s unity march against extremism. He described the march, considered the biggest rally in modern French history, as “a magical moment comparable to the big-bang”.
A judicial source told AFP that Dieudonné was arrested this morning for being an “apologist for terrorism”.
Dieudonné’s notorious brand of comedy and provocation made world headlines in 2013 when French footballer Nicolas Anelka was banned for made a “quenelle” gesture.
The gesture which is used widely, including by Dieudonné, resembles a Fascist salute with the proponent’s arm facing downwards. Critics say it is anti-Semitic but Dieudonné and others argue it is used as an anti-establishment gesture.

And now Paris are trying to sue Fox News for exactly the same thing (saying huge areas of Paris are no go areas for non-muslims - areas including Montmatre, a major tourist hotspot).

Freedom of speech does not cover libel and slander.

They might bring shit into a french court dickhead. Fox has assets overseas (especially in the UK), most likely they'll bring the court case to the UK.

http://www.pbs.org/mediashift/2008/12/c … -suits352/

Ehrenfeld authored a book in which she alleged that Saudi bank executive Khalid Salim Bin Mahfouz financially supported terrorism. Although the book was published only in the U.S., Mahfouz sued Ehrenfeld in England based on the fact that 23 copies were sold there via the Internet and a chapter of the book was made available on a website accessible in England. When Ehrenfeld chose not to respond to the action, the English court ordered her to pay damages and attorney fees to Mahfouz and to cease publication of the defamatory statements.

Note that Mahfouz is not a citizen of the UK; he is a citizen of Saudi Arabia. The tactic of non-resident plaintiffs bringing suit in a country with libel laws more favorable to plaintiffs is referred to as libel tourism. The UK is a favored destination for libel tourists, as it has particularly stringent defamation laws and no inconvenient First Amendment to limit them. In fact, Mahfouz has brought several similar libel actions in UK courts against other authors as well.
Edit: A non-US citizen can take US citizens to US courts well. It's not like US citizens are immune to their own laws if the crime is committed by an Alien.

In a libel and slander case, the plaintiff has to prove the comments were made with malice and intended to do harm. Trust me. I read a book on this for school a few years ago.
