In the much-discussed scene, Sansa (Sophie Turner) is sexually assaulted on her wedding night by new husband Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) while another character, Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen), is forced to watch.
The media and that senator seem to be making a bigger deal out of it than anyone else. It's because it's Sansa. She was like the one unsullied ray of hope in the books because through all her bullshit, she still maintained her idealistic innocence. Where's the ray of hope on the tv show now? That's why people got upset.DesertFox- wrote:

Yeah pretty much. First episode of game of thrones, daenerys got raped and bran got pushed off a window after getting caught by sibling fuckers, yet no one made a complain. Then again GoT wasn't as widely published then.Jay wrote:
