Retreving BF2 Accounts?

So... I decided upon retrieving my old BF2 account. But I can't remember the password used 8 years ago. And the Forgot my password link in BF2 appears to be non functional. I tried emailing EA support and got a robo-mail about resetting my Origin account password - gee thanks EA...

So has anyone else done this in the past year or so and how did they do it?

I had to do the same thing for my Steam account.

I had to find an email for a specific help-desk person and get a real conversation going. Took like a week but they finally changed the email address associated with my account to one I knew the password to, then you can do the password-reset deal and bobs your uncle.

Id say start looking for a help email but a real one, not a robo one.
