metro usually is defined by the city itself and the immediate commuting area around it. Metropolitan New York usually encompasses NYC, southwestern Connecticut, Westchester, Long Island, and northern New Jersey. An Urban area would be the places where you have densely packed housing, apartment buildings, and most of the jobs etc.

Being drunk or blatantly reckless would generally be a breach of CTP policy, and any personal comprehensive, third party damage etc insurance policy.
Aus insurers will generally match UK no-claims discount, if you have one.

Yeah I did have a quick look when I was in Perth and that seemed to be the case. In Adelaide now but I'm not sure if I'm gonna get a car yet, I can do up to 3 months on my UK license before I've gotta pay the fee to convert it to the Aus one. See how it goes, a lot of jobs do ask if you have your own transport so I'm kinda 50/50 on it at the moment.

I don't think temporary residents/holiday-makers need to convert their license at alll.
For one thing they'll cut up your UK license when you convert. They didn't cut up mine but the woman at the desk was retarded.

Although it says to carry your visa with you as well as your foreign license if you drive, which isn't possible since the visa is electronic and I have no documentation for it. I'll cross that bridge if and when I come to it.
