I was wondering if anyone can confirm for me that I have this right. Thanks very much...

1. INSTALL BF2
2. INSTALL PATCH 1.4
3. INSTALL SPECIAL FORCES
5. PATCH SPECIAL FORCES TO 1.1
5. PATCH SPECIAL FORCES TO 1.12
5. PATCH SPECIAL FORCES TO 1.2
5. PATCH SPECIAL FORCES TO 1.3
4. INSTALL BF2 PATCH 1.4 AGAIN
7. INSTALL BF2 PATCH 1.5

don't install special forces. no one plays it anymore.

install bf2 and then patch 1.5.

you're just making it more complicated and longer by going through all these patches.

Its not actually SF maps and servers I want its the ability to access more weapons even if its just single player mode.

Basically I was happy not using it, but then thought I might as well install SF since I bought it years ago and its easy enough and nice weapons.

Thanks man, but its that patches that confuse me, can I patch SF from 1.1 to 1.3 without needing to install 1.12, 1.2, and 1.22? because I cant find patch 1.22 anywhere.

Its so confusing I figured everyone would have a text file listing the whole process, especially for win7 64 users.

all you need is patch 1.5.

install both versions of the game then patch it over with 1.5. last i recall it isn't an incremental patch.

there is only one version of the patch which covers the whole battlefield 2 series, sf included.

so no, there is not a need for any 'sf' patches.

Ok I got it working thanks, I was getting CTD after installing:

BF2
SF
SF 1.1 PATCH
BF2 1.5 PATCH

but then I installed SF PATCH 1.12 then 1.3 and its running ok now.

Thanks again bro.

this reminds me of the old days :') when you had to patch the game yourself , and could choose not to <3

This is the correct order:

BF2 -> (SF) -> 1.41 -> 1.50 -> (1.50 Alt+Tab Hotfix)
(Items in brackets are optional.)
See: https://help.ea.com/article/obtaining-t … tlefield-2

The 1.50 patch, while being over 600MB large, still requires the similarly large 1.41 patch.

IIRC, some older BF2 retail disks require you to patch the game before you're able to install SF.
In that case, use the 1.41 too, instead of any older ones.
