MacEeyore?

Yeah, I did get out of a speeding ticket thanks to my gold cop family member card.

It's metal and has my uncle's name on it. I have an uncle who is a cop and three cousin cops. One of my cousins is a national law enforcement figure. He has been on T.V.

Wait a minute, aren't you the guy who keeps whining about "muh taxes", how the police can vote themselves whatever pay and conditions they like and hold the state to ransom?
Also criticising MacEeyore for keeping a "Friends of the Cops" or whatever card in his wallet so he gets off tickets?
Now the police should get blind respect and obedience?
I can see cops pulling back and disengaging now. They did it to de blasio before and crime spiked. It will happen again.
Yeah, these guys really deserve blind respect.

I thought you hated public sector workers, if the police don't like their lot shouldn't they just resign and take their wide range of in demand skills elsewhere?

But again, is there a lot of point in arguing with you when you have no fixed ideology and just parrot today's latest post from angrywhitetaxpayerswhosewiveswontlethtembuyanar15.com ?
I try to treat everyone with respect until they show that they're not worthy of it. Treating people with automatic disrespect because of their differences, or their place in society, is how we ended up in the situation we've been in for the past week.

But you've endlessly ranted about public sector employees as a group, I find it hard to imagine you treat them with respect, the police are public sector employees and the most self-serving and self-protecting an the most successful at leeching off your taxes no?

My local police are about 95% OK, but its pretty obvious the commissioner has authoritarian leanings.

There is going to a protest in my town against police brutality. Our police are pretty famously corrupt and abusive. Stores are boarding up their windows.

Yo what happened to those no large gathering rules brought in by the state of emergency declared? I'm planning a BBQ and want to see if there's a loophole I can make use of.

I think public sector unions are an abomination, but the individual people are fine. Many of them are time servers looking to be as unproductive as possible without getting fired, but it's not universal, and I try to not assume upon meeting one.

Several pages ago I read Jay spilling his heart out over police abusing their power. Yet in the face examples like a kid getting sniped with a beanbag, it's false victimhood. Flip, flop, flip, flip, flip, flop.

Freedom of speech and right to assembly sound like two things a Libertarian should be unswervingly in support of. I wouldn't expect them to fall back on the "thin blue line" catch-all.

looks like a severe TBI. at that age, a life changing injury at the very least with a good chance of him dying in the next 48 hours.

that's what you get for attending protests in america! 'peaceably' my ass! grandpa fucking asked for it!

hopefully there's a bed in the ICU ward when the 16-year-old mexican kid gets moved to long-term rehab in order to learn how to talk again.

It anticipated this Saturday, at approximately 12.00 pm, a protest is being planned to be undertaken at Victoria Square, Adelaide aimed at supporting Justice for United States deceased man George Floyd.
Commissioner of Police Grant Stevens, in his role as the State Coordinator for the COVID-19 response in South Australia, has the authority to issue a blanket exemption for those who wish to peacefully protest on Saturday.
This is a unique situation requiring the Commissioner to balance public health considerations with people’s ability to peacefully protest.
Taking all of the health advice into consideration; and the civil liberties of people who wish to peacefully protest, the State Coordinator has issued such an exemption for this one off unique situation.
The exemption in broad terms permits a gathering of more than 80 people in a public place for this one off occasion. However, it needs to be strongly emphasised this does not detract from people to still maintain safe physical distancing and to have an overt respect for any people who might be near to them with respect to preventing any spread of the COVID-19 virus.
The Commissioner’s decision enables a peaceful protest without the fear of breaching the Emergency Management Act direction, but this requires people to be mindful of their own health and that of others.
Anyone who is unwell shouldn’t attend the protest, and those who do attend need to maintain appropriate physical distance.
South Australia Police has been attempting to develop dialogue with the protesters but this has not yet been formerly established. We welcome organisers to establish contact with SAPOL members so that we can provide advice and work together on this day.
As with any major protest activity there will be a highly visible police presence to ensure that the safety and wellbeing of protesters; and any other person who might come into contact with those lawfully protesting at Victoria Square, is of the highest priority.
This is an unusual step but one which felt warranted given the circumstances.
SAPOL members will monitor the behaviour of all of those in attendance or in the vicinity and will not tolerate any violent or unlawful behaviour. Such behaviour will be treated with swift response and action.
We aim to ensure the protest is peaceful and without undue incident.
The full details of the exemption can be obtained via sa.gov.au and the South Australia Police website.
Shits going down.
I don't think SAPOL have ever dealt with a real riot.

america has serious problems if covid is not isolated to certain wards and gets into ICU wards. they are seriously immunocompromised people. and a skull infection or anything like that ... forget about it.

that guy didn't go into a fencing response when he knocked his head, which is not exactly promising.
