U.S. government announced it will take 100,000 Ukrainians refugees. Top comments on Brietbart and other right wing spaces is basically "they are only going to take non-white Ukrainians." I saw a conservative IRL say something similar about Ukrainian refugees.

Macbeth last month wrote:

I had a conversation with a white supervisor at work about Ukraine. The guy is very well educated. Very generous to me too. So not a pig man though I suspect others would feel different about that.

Mac: "We are going to get a lot of refugees in our area"
Boss: "No we aren't. Biden is not going to let them in. He only lets in people on welfare and drugs. People from Guatemala, Honduras, those places. The Ukrainians are hard workers. They aren't on drugs and welfare. Biden is not going to let the Ukrainians in because they...they..they don't."
Mac: "They don't fit the profile?"
Boss "Yes, that's right. They don't fit the profile.   The Ukrainians are hard workers and Biden hates the working man..."

There's nothing quite like a class of fat, white Americans on drugs and welfare, er, complaining about Latinos on drugs and welfare. I too have had dealings with supposedly educated people who have pigman leanings, frequently mentioned. Pretty obvious where they get their information about partisan politics.

The racism isn't the part that bothers me. I am annoyed at right wingers defaulting to "I bet they aren't going to help the white people" when the government announces any program/policy. I don't know if it is politically posturing or if they genuinely internalized the belief that the government is out to white genocide them.

I know black people often have a "the whites are always out to get us" mindset but I don't like it when they do it either.

In the teacher lounge listening to some stories. One (white) teacher is talking about how his daughter is failing out of college since it looks like she is having problems socializing. He also mentioned a bunch of nieces who went away to school, didn't finish and came back.

Why is this in the racism thread? I think a lot of people would assume the white girls going to college far away from home are privileged and so on even though they have their own struggles that people wouldn't know about if someone from their own family didn't spill the beans. This is one reason I don't like the whole "Karen" insult. The freakout videos are great and I will share them with you but at the same time society probably could go easier on troubled white ladies. And while it might seem odd that somebody would advocate for white women to have it easier, non-white women should also be treated with empathy and respect.

It probably would be a good thing for society if we didn't kick people when they are down.

There may be a sliver of truth to some of that. I have heard anecdotes from white boomers saying they were denied aid decades ago because they looked employable. I'm not ready to discount their stories. It sounds like something a racist government worker would ironically think. The whole white genocide family of propaganda probably didn't just spawn out of a void. Even you've advocated for white people sort of in that respect.

I don't believe hiring or scholarship quotas help out in the long term. Such policies by any approach seem a rather slimy band-aid over the top of racist people and policies in company interviewing and college admissions. Instead of forcing your company to hire a less qualified black woman to meet your internal requirements, how about lose the corporate attitude where you hold ones who are qualified back if they don't straighten their hair. Stop cancelling children from school if their hair doesn't meet 1950s white standards.

It probably is overused in the casual sense. Also see above, we probably shouldn't assume people have had it easy because they're white. White people can still grow up in poor, violent, abusive neighborhoods and families. "White privilege" is not the sole variable here.

For public freakout videos where a soccer mom is abusing a Target employee, sure.

Your white colleague should probably be less vocal about their family's problems. Definitely isn't very anonymized.

The Democrats who talked up the inevitable demographic shift probably shouldn't have done so. I spend a lot of time with under 18 year olds all day. The numbers don't lie. Whites are a shrinking minority under 18. Whites don't have the numbers to maintain control over institutions. I see this first hand.

Democrats are foolish to bet on a victory over conservatism because of demographics too. It has been shown that once minorities move up the economic ladder, they tend to become more conservative. An upper income minority with a white wife really won't want to upset the apple cart and sign up for Bernie's "political revolution." Some Republicans are smart and realized this too. The Republicans leaders from Texas and Florida seem to get it. America's first Hispanic president will probably be a R from Texas.

Affirmative action is complicated. Overall I think we should do away with it. But I know in my heart that the people most angry by it will just move the goal post and argue that it still totally exist.

One of my young white lady coworkers told a kid after school to stop vandalizing something. The kid cursed her out and ran. I suggested that she be careful doing something like that again. I can see somebody taking a camera and recording her for TikTok even though they are in the wrong. She is a lovely lady and teaches ESL kids but she is one video away from you know canceled. It sucks white people have to live like that. It seems like an over correction from when the non-whites had to always walk on eggshells. But instead of everything getting easier for everyone it seems our culture decided it is better to publicly sacrifice some white people/reputations to even things out.

Yeah it is not good that some people now know he has a daughter who probably needs a bit of therapy and medication before retrying college but the story definitely made me more empathetic towards the plight of checks notes barely holding it together white women.

"Spoiled white princess half-heartedly drifting through a humanities course on daddy's dime" is probably a harmful stereotype/assumption.

Aren't you doing it a bit here?

It just seemed a little sarcastic the way you put it.

Who talks about their family troubles in the break room (definitely behind their backs) anyway? Nobody wants to hear that.

All my stuff is multi-anonymized. Handle from obscure game in the early aughts, no links to my social medias, changed or no names, non-specific locations/industries. And like you perhaps, I'm far more reserved with my opinions and takes in-person than online.

Deplorable. Black people are ruining Miami beach. The whole place was much classier when it was the Cubans ruining it.

The cop had arm tattoos. Cops should not be allowed to have tattoos.

Probably. I say it whenever I see a cop with tattoos. It is my version of 'pull up your pants'.

I think a lot of uniform policies used to be that if arm tattoos were visible below your short sleeves that you had to wear long sleeves. I don't mind that it's been liberalized a bit. At least I can see the neo-nazi tattoos so I know exactly who I'm dealing with.

Whenever I see a girl with tattoos and/or smoking I know they are easy. They don't respect their bodies. They let people draw on it and let others stare at the pictures. They add poison to their bodies because they have low something. I don't know.

A tattoo could possibly be less poisonous than some of the microwaved substance you scarf down on the daily. How are you any less "easy," anyway, making out with whoever in the teacher's lounge or supply closet? Cucking soldiers' wives? A man with little respect for his own body, casting judgment on a woman for tattoos. #patriarchy #doublestandards lol

All of the harm I have done to my body is on the inside. You are supposed to keep the outside of your body clean and classy looking. The inside is a free for all. That's why people have insides and outsides after all.
