I don't care about how much money they generate. I think it is wrong to have a government that says a group of people are more important than everyone else just because they were born into royalty. No amount of money will change that.
They don't bring in a single penny, the old buildings and ceremonies bring in the tourists, whereas they cost the country a fuckton of money.

The French executed theirs some time back and I have heard of Paris being short of tourists.

You know you spend too much time on facebook chat when you keep hearing the 'bong' of a new message in songs.

I spend so little time on facebook chat that when I hear the "bong" of a new message I'm searching my computer to find out what made the noise.

Wait, it makes a bong sound? It clearly makes a bloop sound. Does this mean FB has different sounds for different regions? Their content marketing may be at a level we had never expected....

the last reason i would want to visit britain is because they have a royal family. so many more sites to see and activities to do. would the average tourist even get a chance to see them if they wanted?

what sort of question is this? the 'average' uk citizen doesn't get to see the royal family. they're hardly paraded around every day. i've seen the queen once in my life, and i lived in the town where she spends 80% of her time, ffs.

If London is a town I live in a hamlet.

Tbh, I can't think of any reason to visit the U.K. London is equal to NYC and Washington D.C. I doubt there is anything there that doesn't exist in those two cities. The continent sounds cool though. France, Italy, Spain, and Turkey are the ones I would go to.

It is the same thing with Canada and Australia. Both of those places are just like the U.S. in so many ways that it would feel like a waste going there. It is like visiting Philly for someone who lives in NYC. Sure it is kinda different but still mostly the same. If you are going to travel why not go somewhere exotic?

You realize there are more places to visit than cities? Canada and Australia are filled with unique and wondrous natural beauty.

Montreal and toronto seemed pretty unique to me. I definitely didn't mistake them for anywhere else.

Toronto does feel like most other NA cities (we just hit #4 in population for NA cities).  However Montreal definitely has a unique feel.  Its a strange mix of a NA city with a very strong European vibe.  Plus its incredibly Quebecois and hipster-y.  Certainly not anything I've gotten from Toronto, NY, Boston, SF,...

Ya Montreal was much more interesting than Toronto. And much more fun.

I could never, ever live there though.  A really huge percentage of the population hates english speaking people.  I've been literally yelled at on the metro for speaking english.

I don't doubt it, but both times I was there I never had any issues with the locals.

london is 'equal' to NYC and washington dc? what does that even mean? the architecture, culture, layout, cultural/historical attractions etc. are all completely different. london is nothing like NYC, and definitely nothing like washington dc. that's such a strange and ignorant yankee comment to make. and why does mainland europe has all the 'cool history', but then the british isles do not? lol that's laughable. it's like the literal horizons of your worldview/cultural taste have been specifically pre/proscribed by a college reading list. retard.

windsor is about 22 miles from the geographical centre of the City of London
