all the bedrooms in my house (4) have locks on them, though 2/4 have been broken off at some time before we lived here. they're the type with a keyhole in the front and a slide kinda mechanism to lock. basically, we learned (after about 5 months living here) that if you fully close one of the bedroom doors - normally we never fully closed it with nobody in it - it locks automatically. however, landlord never gave us the key to this lock (and told us this at the beginning of the lease that they dont have it). so when we closed it the other day we had to get a locksmith to drill it open for $130. what are the chances we can claim this from the landlord? its basically a self locking door

anyone have any making landlords pay for shit experiences?
