He's engaged to a Thai girl, they've been together about 5 years now. He's heading back over in a couple weeks.

My housemate also as 'yellow fever". His current and two ex girlfriends are all Asian.

Plus all of the other fees. Easily 1,500 a head once everything is included (taxes, hotel, car rentals, food for meals apart from the wedding, insurance, vaccines, etc.). If it's a family (say a cousin) with 2 kids, they get to pay 6,000 for your wedding.

I saw it happen with family going to Sedona, AZ for a wedding this June (I didn't go due to work), and those tickets were only 750 round.

edit- What I'm saying is that you save no embarrassment by still having the dream wedding but in a far off location to save cost. Everyone recognizes the cost has just been deferred to them. Much better to ask for contributions from family members through cash presents at the wedding, and still make sure everyone can attend.

With that, it's not my decision, do whatever.

Police in Burlington say a deaf man was stabbed several times after his sign language was mistaken for gang signs by another man.

Sgt. Mark Yancey said 45-year-old Terrance Ervin Daniels was using sign language with another deaf man. A third person saw them, thought they were flashing gang signs and stabbed Daniels several times with a kitchen knife. A neighbor saw the victim and called emergency personnel.

Daniels is in stable condition at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after Wednesday’s incident.

I went to a mate's wedding in Vegas in 2011. He's Swedish so all his family and best mates flew over for it.

My friends are great people and are very reasonable and understanding. I don't have much to do with my extended family. My gf does but there's certain family she doesn't want to attend so this is a good way of getting around that. Like I said, we would throw a party back home anyway.
