You waste energy preaching to me boy, I'm the son of a Utah polygamist and the oldest of 32 children. I was raised in a harsh, by some standards, religious enviroment.
It just didn't work for me, I aint Mormon, and I aint Christian and I aint sorry. I've studied too many other religions and too much world religion history to do anything but laugh when people say that to me.
That would come under 'Animism', yes? Not trying to insult you or anything, but on a 'trident' or major world religions, animism goes at the very bottom (meaning its the oldest)

I'm Atheist, I don't believe in god or Allah either.

Why? Example :
Before hurricane Katrina came by, you saw people praying like maniacs (on tv), asking god to let Katrina take a different path. But did it work? No it didn't, Katrina just mauled down New Orleans and its surroundings.

If god had created humans, why is he in fucks name letting them slaughter each other?

Even if there is a god he quite clearly doesnt give a shit about humans and if anything we are just an experiment in his endless life. Its like saying we give a shit about individual bacteria, bullshit no one does.

I voted atheist because:

1. I can't really believe that some bloke made the earth in six days, no matter how tall he was.
2. Religions that I have looked at seem to change the rules to keep up with fashion.
3. God whether he exists or not has had more misery and bloodshed caused in his name than anyone else.
4. It seems that the church leadership is made up largely of kiddy fiddlers.

Well it actually did take a different course. Before its eye it was on a dead-straight path, but mere hours before it hit it veered off to the left and the eye missed by about 20km.

Wasn't enough.

If there is a god, he's probably on the left end of this spectrum:

Creator god ---------------------- Mildly active god --------------------- Active god.
                        ^^^^^^

Most people believe in an active god: e.g. a one who listens to prayers and does stuff all the time and essentially runs the place. A 'creator' god is one who creates a universe and leaves it at that. Nothing more. A mildly active god is one who only becomes an 'active' god every so often (say every 10 000 years)

No I do not beleive. Why? Because I like to see a bit of evidence to back up the claims. To me, using the writings in one book with nothing physical to back it up does not constitute evidence.

No. There's no evidence whatsoever for a God existing. It just seems like some fabrication to help some people feel worthwhile.

I'm towards the atheiest side... due to my inqusitive (into science) nature and the fact that there have been some unpleasent experiences of religion being rammed down my throat.

If anyone from the other camp wants to shoot some questions (eg. where did the universe expand from, or whatever) then bring it on!

As for the actual teachings of christianity, I'll take the morals and that stuff, even if I don't believe the story.

religion is a money making machine... its lost all lts values and is practically redundant.

i dont believe and i doubt i ever will because when humans kill for something they have never seen there is no hope.

morals? the good it does ? dream on.

I rather enjoy the contradiction presented. Insulting those who have a religion just because you've read there is no God. Example, "God is belief that pussies hold". Are you that violent towards every single follower of a religion? "Oh, George Washington shouldn't have been president, he was a weak asshole following a ghost" and things of that nature. You say you dislike when others press religion upon you to the point where you give up upon it and then you try to discredit my beliefs. However, that is exactly what they are, beliefs. You're not gonna get anyone to change their mind through text. It's the experience which you need to have.
Also, God is not an all-powerful diety who can grant every single prayer as if it were a wish. For example, say two people pray for a team to win the World Series or something, but they pray for opposite teams. That doesn't mean squat, religion is not a wishing well or a genie.
Humans are different from animals, no matter how much you tell me the DNA is similar. I've yet to see a single sign of animal progress in the world even though they have had a large amount of time to evolve as humans may have.
Just as well, I'd like to see an experiment where, in an unliving world, life magically springs up, even a bacteria or two. Organisms aren't minerals and aren't created by the heat and pressure of the Earth's crust.
Long story short, if you're unhappy with religion forced upon you, maybe you should stop pushing non-religion onto everyone else.

You don't have to believe in something to be a good person.
I don't care what you believe in either, as long as you don't try and convince me into thinking I need to share your beliefs, or you use your religious beliefs as an excuse for doing the wrong thing.
