When earning the ground defense ribbon it say to earn on a TOW or a mounted machine.........does the machine gun on the transport vehicles count as a mounted machine gun?

The MG on transports doesn't count as GD because when you kill people with them, it says "HUMVEE" or "Vodnik" or whatever
So you need it with an MG on a wall or a TOW

On the market flag of 32-sized Karkand, On the north side looking down the street towards the ramp, there's an MG mounted on the little shack.

Yeah, every map has them, they're just never used. Bad field of view and way too exposed to be used for a long time. Usually what's best for ground defense badges/ribbons is to get the kills real fast (TOWing a humvee) and then find some obscure GD and sit in it for the rest of the round)
Most used TOW would probably be at the train accident at Karkand.
Most used Mounted MG would probably be the 2nd floor balcony at Warlord.

All the fricken maps in the entire game have them. And here is a little hint I used to get it: Be commander, find a ground defense, stay in ground defense entire round, and use artillery. The arty kills will count as the ground defense.-=Colonel_Zero=- wrote:

In answer to the question no a transport MG does not count. There is, however, plenty of mounted machine guns on all the maps, just join an empty server and have a look around. The easiest way, as you said, to get the badge is by being the commander and sitting in the MG while you use your Artillery, though for the basic badge you should at least try and get it the 'proper way'.
