Steorn’s technology appears to violate the ‘Principle of the Conservation of Energy’, considered by many to be the most fundamental principle in our current understanding of the universe. This principle is stated simply as ‘energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only change form’.

Steorn is making three claims for its technology:

   1. The technology has a coefficient of performance greater than 100%.
   2. The operation of the technology (i.e. the creation of energy) is not derived from the degradation of its component parts.
   3. There is no identifiable environmental source of the energy (as might be witnessed by a cooling of ambient air temperature).

The sum of these claims is that our technology creates free energy.
Bollocks it does.

It breaks all the laws of thermodynamics. They don't mention how, all highly suspect - I don't believe a word of it.

The company is seeking a jury of twelve qualified experimental physicists to define the tests required, the test centres to be used, monitor the analysis and then publish the results.
Yeah and pigs will fly.

It may well work to some extent - but it will not be over 100% efficient and it will not create energy. Can't wait to see the whole thing torn to shreds by theoretical physicists.

I agree with healthy scepticism but once again, keep in mind that it was believed that the world was flat...

Proven false.

We believed that the sun rotated around the earth...

Proven false. Give them a chance and if they are caught with their pants down we can all have a laugh and move on.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

Fact: I invented the perpetual motion machine that provides this power.

LOL, rotating magnents huh.  Well it is a hoax.  I could design a web page and claim a bunch of crap too.  According to the above picture it would not work.  You just created a picture of a perpetual motion toy that has been around for years, sooooooo, I thought CameronPoe was an Engineer?????

If breaking the laws of physics was that easy it would have been done years ago by Bill Nye the Science Guy.
I won't believe anything until I see it with my own eyes and read the proofs and reasoning. Hence my question: 'Hogwash or genuine?'
BTW- according to the picture you would have to change the polarity of the magnet to pull/push the pendulum for it to make any sense at all.

If it does work (which it won't) it will have disproved the most fundamental laws of physics which engineers use to design everything. It would really fuck everything up.

Eh, it would fuck everything up in the theoretical science world, but in practical application, the effects wouldn't take hold for decades. After all, engineers have been making strong buildings for ages, who cares if their math was flawed, it's proven to work.

I was talking about new developments. Without these fundamental principles to rely on engineers would be in a mess when it came to takling new and complex problems.

*edit* But it's all bullshit anyway - so it's ok.

......(shake my head)

Give me free electricity and ill believe this. They should be given time to prove it.

I dunno. I have an open mind for new technology, but I'll have to see whatever this is in action before I accept it. Small-scale energy generation wouldn't be hard to believe, but a car? Nonetheless, bookmarked. Neglected to register for news in fear of spam.

I got drunk off whiskey, took the magnents off my refrigerator and taped them to each end of a pencil that hangs from my cupboard by a string and that now powers my house.  I will put a link up when I get pictures.

Sounds simple, if it was, someone would have already thought of it.
Sounds complicated , if it was, would have to wait years before it could be any good,
