BF2S Forums Commander badges and ribbons

Are you actually scoring all the points in the round as commander? If you score 50 points, then become a commander you commander score is 0 to start with, though you score for the round will still be 50 at that point.

Also, this should be in the "Battlefield 2 Help!" section, not the "BF2s Help" section.

I'm not sure if this is actual or not, but I have done that as well, (gotten 50+ command points and not gotten the badge, but my side lost the round) Now when I was commanding and got the required amount of point and my side won then ai got the badges (Basic and Vet) and the ribbon, so I think you have to be Commander on the winning side, make sense? Just my two cents worth.

I just commanded 5 games, and won all 5... now that score at the bottom, is that the pre double score, or post double score?

either way... I have clan members who have never gotten a better score as commander then me, and they have the badge, and ribbon... it's embarassing when I'm one of the two team leaders >_<

as far as the veteran command badge goes, I qualify for it... except I dont have the basic... bugger eh?

Yep, was just thinking that after I posted. Must stop going off on tangents  -_-

I've had issues myself in getting commander badges.  More specifically the veteran badge (It didn't register right away the first time) 

Tip::
Try this: 
Next map you command,  hop in a tank/APC and defend a base while commanding.  (I did this on Songha Stalemate)  Shoot down any enemies or choppers that come in to take it (On stalemate I defended the  American base on the hill where all the commander equipment is with an APC).  You aren't exaclty "going in to fight" and this earns you "defend flag" as well as frag points too. 

By my round's end I had 50 commander points and the basic Comm. badge.

I didn't have any problem getting the basic Commander badge.  Heck, you're way ahead of me in score. You should breeze through a round No problem and get the badge trying someting like this.

Try that and let me know what happens.

Ok, I think I've got my head on straight now.

I guess the only other thing I can offer is to stick it out for as long as possible in a round. 
I have noticed that it takes time to earn these reguardless of how many points you finish a match with due to the simple fact that EA is having issues with certain badges/ribbons registering properly.   I certainly hope they can resolve this soon.

Umm... I do think that this forum is talking about, some the UBAR says, but he can't acheive.

What is the go with the problems? does anyone have a link to the EA site in reference to the problems EA are having with recognition of ribbons, medals, and badges?

I have earnt 48 points of purely command points and didn't receive the medal, peeved me off since that was an acomplishment at this rank as everyone takes precedence over my rank. Not to mention having done it several times in the past, but i am having a very hard time understanding how to earn command points, is it just that, the average of all your teams points? including the damn idgits who go tk half the bloody team and end up with -30?

You score when they do... and their score (which is either +1 or +2, depending on the thing they did to score) is divided by the number of players on your team who are alive (so if someone scores a kill for +2 on a 12 man team, while 2 are dead and respawning, then +0.2 is added to your commander score).  Your score is not reduced when others get TKs.  And, you must earn the scores for badges and such *before* the x2  (except x2 does apply to overall scores needed, such as for Vet and Exp command badges).

Were you commander the whole round?  Because a) 100% of what's shown in the top of the commander interface is commander score, and b) if you're commander, no matter how many people you kill, or how much you repair, you don't get ANY combat or teamwork score.

To say it more clearly, the score displayed in the commander screen is NOT the pure commander score but your overall score, the best way to check this is as in my example where it displayed 50+ points in commander screen, but in the end I only got about 30+ pure commander score. Just do nothing as commander than using your toys, that is the only way you can be sure to only get commander score displayed.
