The following link is to the official EA site for battlefield.
By entering in your EA account details and BF2 account details you can reserve your new 2142 name. (Creating an EA account is extremely simple if you dont already have one).
However, not only do you get to reserver your name, by doing this you also get a free rank up when you log into BF2142, a free unlock AND some sort of status symbol denoting you as a BF2 veteran!
(Another line says you geta new BF2 taunt, however I'm unsure as to what this means)
