Jesse Macbeth talking about his time as a ranger.

This movie is about a war ranger named Jesse Macbeth. He shares his story about his encounters in Iraq, and some of the horrific things he had to do, all because his government lied to him, and told him too.

Edit:

Even though I am not from the country, I still think the guy deserves some respect for his service, just like any soldier in war should. Soldiers in war should also never be forgotten.

I don't know what parts your talking about but the whole "Strike fear in the hearts of Iraqis, and to be brutal and to not feel is somewhat of an old mantra from the military about certain areas and events, but is certainly not SOP.  What happened to army values? Some dumb cheesehead Sarge or other NCO or brass is just being retarded.  No one in the top brass of the army or marines wants to strike fear in the hearts of Iraqis, I feel sorry for this guy, for being wounded, he has done a great service to our country but I have to respectfully disagree with most of the stuff he is saying.

And just wtf do you mean by "his goverment lied to him" about what????  An NCO lied to him. Cmon, stop speaking out of your ass.  Most of the military is not like this.

Edit: And the part where he said "HE felt like he lost part of himself" Show me ONE person who has been in the military serving in a combat zone who DOESN'T feel like they have lost something.  He's trying to equate that to his different beliefs.  I think this veteran is being exploited by groups like Veterans Against The War and just using him as publicity.  His values and beliefs are wonderful but he just ended up with the wrong squad.  He's over analyzing things and not looking at the bigger picture.

All I had to do was look at the related tags within the first minute. For example, "liar, fraud, fake, hoax" just to name a few. I recall a similar story talking about how they had supposedly "lit up" many people in vehicles for no reason. Shortly thereafter, I remember seeing another story in the same print matter disproving the "facts" presented by the individual interviewed.

Watch the movie. He clearly states that the government "lied to him and tricked him." He is refering to the fact that he thought he was going to Iraq to change the nation for the better, not to strike fear into the hearts of Iraqis.

I was a Ranger, and never once was I told anything like this.  I went to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kuwait.  Iraq 3 times and Afghanistan twice.  We were never told to "strike fear into the hearts of the Iraqi's."  Or we wouldn't be charged for crimes.  In fact it was the exact opposite.

Also and way off topic:  even if he was a Ranger, what the hell is he doing wearing a white shirt with his bdu's?  If he tried that shit back at batt he'd get all fuckered up, for weeks and weeks and weeks.

Judging by the mans constant stuttering he either is trying to comeup with things off the top of his head or he is tring to not mess up what he was told to say. The topics that the video was related to (fraud, liar, fake, hoax and idiot) definately raise a red flag. Sounds like someone was paid to talk bad by an anti-war organization.

Another thing when he talks about night raids, and pulling people out in zip ties....YOUR LOOKING FOR TERRORISTS, WTF does this person not understand about that? "If he didn't know anything he was SOL"

"I felt wrong, I felt disgusted, I had to make myself hate them in order to do my job"

What a load of bullshit, come the fuck on soldier, follow orders and complain about it later, I agree that is NOT the way to do it, and that people should be held responsible, but to join some bs org like IVAW, gimme a break.

The problem is not our government, it is not this guy, and it is most CERTAINLY not any of our servicemen, it is the way things are run and the way training is conducted, change that, and you change the way business is conducted.  Corruption happens.  But enough of this whining shit, its a waste of time.

Well careful there, it did seem he might have some PTSD or some other disability related to an injury or traumatic event, I wouldn't go that far, I just think hes got his head up his ass and is being used.

If he was being set up infront of a camera, I think they'd train him better to NOT studder like that.

Did it ever say what Ranger batt he was in?  I'd like to know, but I couldn't finish listening to the bullshit that was spewing out of his mouth.

Your comment was appreciated. We also make good bacon. While you are feeding your fat face on our greasy meat products, we will raid your country and take over your land, and claim it as ours. We will then name the new country, "Canamerica."

Seriously, don't post stupid comments.

If he's basing his training on how he handled himself in front of a camera, the guy's horribly mistaken and failing his stand on the point he's trying to make.
