Well anyways, I OCed my x1600PRO a while ago, about 50MHZ (memory) , reset it (I wasnt sure if any difference or anything >_>) (500 core, 400DDR2 mem). Would overclocking the memory help any? (I tried overclocking the core, didnt work, artifacts , screen ****s up, refresh rate soars >_<)

Yes, usually one overclocks both the GPU and the memory at the same time.

And just up it a tiny bit. Going too far can permanently destroy your video card, but mostly just results in artifacts. If you have artifacts, you have overclocked too far.

I OC'd my 9200 and got it from 200/332 to 260/432

ATI Tool, great program for OCing. Try it, if that's not what you have been using.

Depending on your system and the components you have sometimes just raising the memory clock can give some of the most noticable performance increases. Just depends, overclcocking is trial and error.

I have a BFG OC 7900GT pushed to 665 core / 1810 memory @ 1.45v  watercooled of course.

Lol yea, things gonna explode if you try any higher

Ive been using ATI tool

I dont mess with core, everytime I do screen ****s up, artifacts etc, extreme heat, memory is fine, just makes the card run hotter. >_<

Jus got out of about 2 hours straight of Cod2 and its hovering around 47c and slowly dropping. It usually idles at 44c and Peaks at 56c, With everything stock on the card including HSF it idled at 55c. So a rememarkable improvement depsite the massive heat from the overclock and over voltage.

lol, well it runs like one

You are looking at a AMD 3700+ o/c'ed to 2.8ghz
2 gigs of DDR RAM @ 2-3-3-5
550W PSU
300gb total HD space from Maxtor SATA drives
BFG 7900 OC ....o/c'ed  to 665 core / 1810 memory w/ water cooling
2 dvd-rw dual layer optical drives
and it all runs extremely fast, fairly quiet and very cool

5006 3dmark06
21,533 3dmark 03

you can increase both core and memory. just keep it at default speeds and increase by 10, then scan for 5 mins, then keep doing that until your screen gets messed up. once that happens, turn the speeds down a bit and scan for artifacts. if its fine now, but you see a little bit of funny things around the cube and it detects artifacts, let your card cool down and try again.
